Well, I'd like to thank everyone for discussing their favorite water pokemon, from it, I got a new Milotic :D BUT NOW! I would like all of you to tell me your Favorite dragon and or Fighting pokemon!! ( I know there aren't a lot of dragon pokemon but eh theres a handful. ) This will give me some options for my 5th slot ( which will be either dragon or fighting )

Well. Out of the 12313232132,219323,1239123,23129312 Billion water pokemon that nintendo has created, i'd have to say, that you should try to catch a mantyke, it evolves into a mantine. Thats the best water pokemon on my team! =D. Also, I think Buizel is good. Well its Evo. Or so I've heard.

magikarp is hot

Seriously, though, if you're going Sinnoh Dex only, Gyarados is good with it's 125 base Attack. Floatzel's okay, too, having a solid Attack and Speed of 105 and 115, respectively.

National Dex, I like Vaporeon myself. Great stats (130 Spec. Atk. if I remember correctly) and a decent moveset make for a great Special Sweeper and staller with Double Team and whatnot (gosh I hate that move).

Gyrados is one of those annoying pokemon that has great stats, but learns no good moves for the most part. Starmie, Suicune, and Vaporeon (I LOVE the former two) are probably your best bets. Or the nifty ones that are part-ground and immune to electric, like Gastrodon, Quagsire, or Wiscash (just watch out for grass-types).

yes and remeber i have the national dex.

i listed every water pokemon there is and got it down to these:

Vaporeon

Lapras

Huntail

Corsola

(I'm want to be original, and gyarados and floatzel are just to common...)

Not to mention Vaporeon's massive Hp. Personally I prefer Vaporeon on my team. Other than that, I really like the idea of Gyarados, which now learns Aqua Tail. Remember that Aqua tail may be Water but it's a physically attacking move, benefiting from Gyarados' large attack stat. With stab that a 135 power water attack coming from a base 125 attack stat, pretty powerful.

I think if you're considering Huntail, you may want to rethink Gorebyss. From what I know, Gorebyss isn't unoriginal, almost nobody uses her, but I know that she is more powerful than Huntail is.

I've looked at quite a few and still haven't decided, but those I found were nice:

Omastar, with high defense/spec. attack
Kingdra, with high-middle everything
Vaporeon, with very high life and high special attack.
Lapras, with very high life and good everything else.
Milotic, with high Spec. Attack and high Spec. Defense, and a good speed.
Gyardos, with high attack and good everything else.
Tentacruel, with good regular stats, high spec. defense, and high speed. Really better than most see it as.
Kabutops, with high attack, defense, and good speed.

Legendaries:
Kyogre and Palkia. Both have very high stats, especially in the spec.attack department.

OKay for me here's what I think:
Slowking-PSYCHIC
KIngdra-Yes I know Palkia looks cooler but I prefer it to be Old School
Swampert-Earthquake and Hydro Cannon (Just for D/P)
Ludiculo-Good against other water types cause it has a Grass type mix in it.
Suicune-It's good it could destroy a Grass type even though it's Water. Thanks to Aurora Beam.
Kyogre-HYDRO PUMP!.

Well that's my opinion. And I think GYarados is weak cause if the opponent has an Electric type pokemon it will be x4 which could lead to a one-hit KO. No offense to those who like Gyarados.

My tactics might have been a little cheap, but I used AR on my Pokemon Colosseum to be able to snag any Pokemon I want, and a Trainer happened to have a Milotic. So I captured it, traded to a GBA game, and Pal Parked it. If you have access to Pkmn Colosseum then I guess you can do that.

Here's a tip: Unless you don't care about speed, don't get slowking. And Blastoise is nothing special - good defense/spec. def stats, above average everything else, but nothing special.

Mantine is good because of the part flying type cancelling out grass attacks. That leaves only electric which it is 4x weak to but you could teach it a move or two to balance it out. Speaking of this I may just trade my Swampert for one of these though I haven't looked at the moves...

Is Kabutops really that good? It is water type and I have a Kabuto..

Well, just to break the mould here, my Azumarill is doing very well as my number 1 water pokemon.

Admittedly, he is temporary, but he ain't too shabby! Very solid.
