Just one Poke.
Glaceon | Timid/Modest @ Leftovers
252 Sp. Atk. 252 Spd. 6 HP.
~Ice Beam
~Hail
~Mirror Coat/Calm Mind
~Shadow Ball

Set up Hail to raise Evasion and damage the opponent while sweeping with Shadow Ball or Ice Beam. Mirror coat used against special sweepers, Calm Mind if previous theory doesn't work.

I think it's pretty good, personally. Maybe a *** or **** out of *****.

Just need suggestions/team rating.

This is going to be used for competitive play and against my friends, so I'm trying to make a good team.

Raichu @ Leftovers
Modest | Static
252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp Def
Thunder Wave
Thunderbolt-Since I've found an Adamant Pichu after catching 35 of them and still NOT ONE modest, do you think changing thnuderbolt with Focus Punch is a good idea? If you think about it, focus punch will definately reak havoc because the opponent has to get through 2/3 things that are in his way. Most of the time, I won't be getting hit.
Sweet Kiss
Attract

-Annoyer

Starmie @ Leftovers/Shell Bell
Modest | Natural Cure
252 Sp Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Thunderbolt
Surf
Ice Beam
Recover

-Special Sweeper

Heracross @ Choice Band or Scarf?
Adamant | Swarm
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Megahorn
Brick Break

-Physical Sweeper

I need a tank, but I don't know who to use and then the last 2 slots... are open for now.

I recognize there are alot of rates to be done. Alot of clutter has also popped up. If your team hasn't been rated, post here a link to your team by highliting your post url (go to it, and click the icon near the date - should be a pale yellow) and posting it here. Not the entire team, but a link. I haven't posted in a long time, as I have been busy with the other 3 rating centers, and figured that this was under control (I also wanted to give the new raters the feeling of what a rater goes through - They are reliad on, constantly questioned, but the feeling of helping is good. I failed to account for the large influx of teams, so i will be rating tonight on into tommorrow. The raters will deal wwith all of them, I assure you.

Nemmy700 wrote:
Hi there, here is my team. All lvl 100. Before you read on, take note of my abbreviations for the attributes, as they may get confusing:
SpA = Special Attack
SpD = Special Defense
Sp = Speed

Kingdra
Modest (+SpA -Atk)
@Leftovers
EV: 252 SpA / 128 SpD / 128 Sp
Dragon Pulse
Ice Beam
Surf
Flash Cannon
You may want to shift the Defensive evs to speed. And, either with rain dance > Flash cannon, or @Choice item (the one that raises special attack or speed- I don't know the name).

Metagross
Adamant (+Sp -SpA)
@Leftovers
EV: 252 Atk / 252 Sp / 4 Hp
Earthquake
Ice Punch
Brick Break
Zen Headbutt
Meteor Mash has to be on here, for STAB. @Choice Band. Rock Slide instead of ice punch is a possibility, but Meteor MAsh must be on here (Instead of Brick Break

Umbreon
Bold (+Def -Atk)
@Leftovers
EV: 252 Hp / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Toxic
Mean Look
Baton Pass
Wish
Good, don't change it.

Charizard
Modest (+SpA - Atk)
@Leftovers
EV: 252 SpA / 252 Sp / 4 Hp
Flamethrower
Sunny Day
Solarbeam
Roar
Dragon Pulse and HP Grass > Solar Beam and Roar. Otherwise, just dragon pulse > roar.

Blissey
Bold (+Def -Atk)
@Leftovers
EV: 252 Def / 128 SpD / 129 Hp
Softboiled
Aromatherapy
Calm Mind
?? (I'm thinking an offensive special attack, deciding between Ice Beam, Psychic, Flamethrower or Shadow Ball)
Something that hits many pokemon super effectively. go with ice beam (more pp, no immunities, hits lots SE)

Alakazam
Modest (+SpA -Atk)
@Choice Band
EV: 252 SpA / 252 Sp / 4 Def
Trick
Psychic
Calm Mind
Shadow Ball
Trickbanding on a sweeper like alakazam isn't the smartest idea. Especially when it gets energy ball. Energy Ball > Trick, with lefties attached. If you want choice specs, focus blast/hp fighting > Calm mind, with the as an item.

Rotom
Modest (+SpA -Atk)
@Choice Band
EV: 252 SpA / 252 Sp / 4 SD
Trick
Shadow Ball
Thunderwave
Thunderbolt
Another attempt at trickbanding? No, don't. It gets Charge beam, which can act like a calm mind. Go for that. Or, substitute. I prefer this over alakazam, for the better defenses and typing (psychics have fallen greatly - everything resists them).

Many thanks in advance!

well, in my play group we are baning blissey. So I've been on the search for the next best special sponge and I found this:

{snorlax}@leftovers
careful l thick fat
96 hp, 200 atk, 36 def, 176 sp def
body slam
earthquake/?
amnesia
rest>selfdestruct

Keep in mind that i'm going for a special sponge rather than the standard physical sweeper.
Rest, definately. Not amnesia - go for stock pile. It raises the defenses. Too bad it doesn't get spit up :(

So...new snorlax is:
{snorlax} @Leftovers
~Stock Pile
~Rest/Swallow (sleep with limited stockpiling vs. no sleep, but buildup time)
~BodySlam/Crunch/EQ/Return
~BodySlam/Crunch/EQ/Return

Alkhazor - thank you for calming them down. You want the thing rated, right?
Alkhazor wrote:
Bastiodon impish nature@ leftovers

EVS HP252 DEF 129 SP DEF 129

Stone edge
iron defense
roar
that rock move that works like spikes <---Stealth Rock
Anyway, it doesn't boost the inferior stat (Sp.Def), and there are too many special moves rock are vulnerable to. Surf, Energy Ball, etc. Curse > Iron Defense, so you boost the attack as well, and inflict damage. Rock Slide > Stone edge, for pp and accuracy purposes. Its staying around for a while, so it will need more than 5pp.

eh? eh? pretty good, right?

Sandragon wrote:
This team is for my first time through. I haven't really included possibly useful TMs in the movesets; I'll probably change the movesets when I get them. I trying to use only 3 pokes (All phys. sweepers...hah)

Medicham
Adamant | Pure Power
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Hi Jump Kick
-Psycho Cut
-T-punch
-Recover
@Choice band. Rock Slide > Recover, Bullet Punch/Ice Punch/Poison Jab possibly instead of t-punch.

Weavile
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Adamant | Pressure
-Ice Punch
-Night Slash
-Ice Shard / Something
-Brick Break / Something
Sword Dance in slot #3, and shell bell as an item.

Garchomp
Adamant | Sand Veil
252 Atk, ???
-Dragon Claw
-EQ
-Fire Fang
-Rock Move (Stone Edge or Rock Slide?)
Rock Slide. Swords Dance/Crunch/Aerial Ace > Fire Fang, possibly (though noone but heatran resists fire + dragon.

Hoping to replace one of Weavile or Gar's moves with Swords Dance.

Suggestions and help greatly appreciated.
There are so many special sweepers out there, and you can't think of three? Water, Ice, Electric, Ghost, Steel, Grass. Good stats, good moves, not to many weaknesses, and put it in.

AABM, Charizard Trainer, CHJB, Enigmers, and DarkRider23 - All of you l8r.
Oh, and new policy - you post here, saying "Why isn't my team rated", unless you are 100% sure we skkipped you, you will have to wait longer :O

Also, I'm headed off to dinner - next rate in 30 min-1 hour.

I'm not much of an expert, so I could use some advice in constructing my team. Here's what I had in mind so far:

Lucario
- Close Combat/Cross Chop
- Extreme Speed
- Dark Pulse
- Counter

Metagross
- Psychic
- Meteor Mash
- Rock Slide
- Hammer Arm

Garchomp
- Dragon Rush
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Dig

Empoleon
- Hydro Pump
- Drill Peck
- Earthquake
- Blizzard/Ice Beam

Weavile
- Night Slash
- Revenge
- Ice Punch
- Iron Tail

Gardevoir
- Psychic
- Hypnosis
- Dream Eater
- Wish

I was thinking that this team might be a little too fire vulnerable, but otherwise I think it has a good mix. What do you guys think?

Okay, I guess last team was not that successful as I though, that´s why I´m coming with a new Idea, this time I want you guys to rate this project, the Dancing-Team (as in double battles only)

- - -

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
~Aqua Ring
~Helping Hand
~Acid Armor
~Baton Pass
I would say Substitute > Helping Hand/Aqua Ring, but not really. An attacking move is needed - if you are up against a taunter, your in trouble. I would have to say get rid of aqua ring.

Gorebyss @ Wisdom Glasses/Splash Plate
Trait: Swift Swim
~Surf
~Rain Dance
~Ice Beam
~Shadow Ball/Psychic
Calm Mind + Baton Pass > Ice Beam and Psyhcic

Toxicroak @ Muscle Band
Trait: Dry Skin
~Poison Jab
~Cross Chop
~Sucker Punch (Needs predictation, but still)
~Fake Out
Pair up with togekiss, andc put EQ > Sucker Punch. Or, use faint attack. Fake out isn'treally worth it, unless you are experienced. Bulk Up, or something.

Kabutops @ King´s Rock
Trait: Swift Swim
~Rain Dance
~Aqua Jet/Aqua Tail
~Rock Slide (Since this is for Doubles, I didn´t rather Stone Edge)
~X-Scissor
Doesn't get aqua tail. Go for Waterfall or dive, instead.

Togekiss @ Shell Bell
Trait: Serene Grace
~Thunder
~Air Slash
~Aura Sphere
~Water Pulse/Nasty Plot
Looks good. Probably naty plot in the last spot.

Starmie @ Wisdom Glasses
Trait: Natural Cure
~Thunder
~Rain Dance
~Hydro Pump/Brine
~Psychic
Surf, maybe? And where's ice beam?

I might get to the rest later, but here's who's left, raters:
Charizard Trainer, CHJB, Enigmers, DarkRider23, kapinsam, greenlight711, and blazingculcar.

Darkrai@?
Mild/Nightmare
Dark Void
Nightmare
Dream Eater
Dark Pulse

Pretty much the idea here is to sleep with Dark Void, Nightmare it, then Dream Eater till it's dead. Rinse, repeat :D Dark Pulse is also availible for pokemon semi-immune to sleep. (I.E. Early Bird)

A build for Dusknoir, primarily for slow disintegration of malicious enemy persona:
Dusknoir, Impish /w Leftovers? EV trained for Spc. Def and HP.
Pain Split
Toxic
Trick Room
Ice Punch/Earthquake

One example of the effectiveness is against Rhyperion, which may otherwise be a vicious opponent. Even if Toxic doesn't work (I don't remember if poison effects rock), every attack that is landed on me by Rhyperion can be healed with a Pain Split until Rhyperion is reduced to about one half of life. It doesn't go by percents, but by absolute values, and even EV trained for life, Dusknoir won't have nearly as much as Rhyperion. At 1/2, I can continue for a bit more with Pain Split until it becomes too dangerous, and finish off with an Ice Punch or Earthquake. With 100 Attack, it might be enough to finish the poor mountain off.

Next pokemon gets sent out, first thing I do is Pain Split to heal myself, toxic, pain split, and interchangably pain split/ Ice Punch/Earthquake whatever is sent against me next.

Okay, here goes. But I'm not into getting the "perfect pokemon" so I don't look for good natures or go EV training. Not to mention, I already trained 5 level 100 pokemon, and about 10 level 70+, and I just hate the specifices. Also, I may add in a bit more than 6... NOW TO THE POINT!

Blaziken@Charcoal (want to replace with CB)
~blaze kick
~rock slide
~sky uppercut
~EQ
Yes, replace charcoal with Choice Band

Dragonite@expert belt
~EQ
~ariel ace
~brick break
~roost
And the EV training. Also, consider substitute > EQ, and Focus Punch > Brick Break.

Zangoose@razor claw
~return
~shadow claw
~swords dance
~thunder wave
@Shell bell. Or @Leftovers .

Mew@shell bell
~psychic
~ice beam
~fly (need to replace, but don't know what)
~softboiled
Calm Mind + Thunderbolt > Fly + Psychic. Too many resist psychic, now.

Shedinja@focus sash (I think it's one use...why does he eat it?!)
~x-scissor
~protect
~toxic
~confuse ray
ohko as in fissure, sheer cold, etc. not as in aerial ace, etc. Choice item, with max attack and speed. Bug bite (if they have a berry, it disables it)/X-scissor, Shadow Claw/Shadow Sneak, Night Slash, and Aerial Ace.

Jirachi@leftovers (I'll use lefties for my Dusknor probably)
~doom desire
~psychic
~wish
~cosmic power
I like this more as a tank. Toxic > psychic.

Dusknoir@leftovers (NOTE:I didn't evolve him yet, nor do I have all these moves)
~will-o-wisp
~shadow punch
~rest (any other healing move?)
~confuse ray (most likely to be changed)
Painsplit is cool, as it has low hp. Change C-ray to Focus punch (if you anticipate them switching), or brick break (no switch).

Smeargle@quick claw/focus band?
~spore
~sheer cold
~lock on
~agility
Baton Pass > lock on. Now, several things you could do with passing (no offense):
~Calm Mind passing
~Dragon Dance > Agility, allowing for another move
~Belly Drum along with agility.

^^Take your pick

Thanks in advance!

Enigmers: Do you have an ice themed team? Otherwise, hail hits everyone. water pulse > hail, with calm mind on as opposed to mirror coat.

More later (sorry)

Me and my clan decided to start our own Pokemon league and of course we're giving out the various types to various people. I decided to choose poison. Now the only restrictions I have for building this team are the following:
1) Atleast one of the pokemon's types has to be poison
2) No ubers
3) No one-hit ko's
4) Can't use the same held item on more than one pokemon

Heres what I have so far for the outline:

Crobat:
Air slash
Haze
Bite,
Confuse Ray
CB@ or Choice Scarf for the item. Aerial Ace, Cross Poison, Faint Attack, Zen Headbutt, X-Scissor, and steel wing are all options. HazeBat just is too bad - no defenses, and its meant to get rid of dragon dances (rock slide kills you), calm minds (t-bolt, ice beam), etc. So, no HAZEBAT!

Gengar:
Mean Look
Dark Pulse
Psychic
Will-o wisp
Choice Specs. Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball, T-bolt, and Energy Ball are all my choices for use. SWEEP!

Nidoking:
Megahorn
Poison spikes
Thunderbolt
Shadow Claw
Poison Spikes is good. Megahorn, EQ, and Roar (toxi-shuffling-spiking).

Tentacruel:
Surf
Poison Spikes
Barrier
Ice Beam
Not this one, really. The special attack sort of fails, so nono.

Venusaur:
Leech Seed
Earthquake
Seed Bomb
Double Edge
Special Wall, please. Amnesia > Double Edge, Energy Ball + Sludge Bomb > EQ and Seed Bomb (Sp.Atk > Phys.Atk).

Skunktank:
Toxic
Night Slash
Flamethrower
Explosion
I'd like weezing here. Lots of defense, lots of good defensive moves.

Obviously the hardest part will be fighting off Psychic types, so any and all help with that is very appreciated. Other than that, the main goal of this team is to poison all the opponents pokemon then hit them with various other attack types. I have none of this built yet so feel free to change as much as you like. thanks

I might get to the rest later, but here's who's left, raters:
Enigmers, DarkRider23, kapinsam, greenlight711, blazingculcar, Loopworm25, floonfloon, Charizard Trainer, Topher, Centeri, and Mewsix.
(Note: Doing the list to keep track).

Hopefully be back after Dinner, sorry.

Okay, I need your opinion on a good type/role combination for my team.

So far, I want:

Steelix/Bastiodon - Stealth Rocker ***may get rid of**
Sceptile - Drainer
Rhyperior - Phys Sweeper
Dusknoir - Tank
Slowbro/King - Special Sweeper w/ Trick Room

But I don't know who my last member should be. My weaknesses right now are: 2 to Fire, 2 to Fighting, 2 to Ice, 2 to Ground, 2 to Bug, 2 to Ghost, 2 to Dark. And 1 to Electric, 1 to Grass, 1 to Poison, 1 to Flying, 1 to Steel.

I can change who I have already have if this is a too many weaknesses, or if there isn't a final member who can take care of these weaknesses for me. The ones I don't want to change are Sceptile and Rhyperior. And I think Slowbro/king will work nicely with Rhyperior for Trick Room.

The rest can change if needed.

Bronzong and Medicham were under consideration, so they are viable candidates as well. Perhaps some other roles could be considered?

--Kinda new to this havent played serious Pokemon for awhile but trying to get into it (@? for recommended items if you can)

UMBREON@? (Synchronize - Impish)
Baton Pass
Mean Look
Moonlight
Torment

ARCANINE@? (Flash Fire - Modest)
Flamethrower
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
?

NIDOKING@? (Rivalry - Adamant)
Megahorn
Earthquake
Roar
Poison Spikes

LUXRAY@? (Rivalry - ????)
Thunder Bolt
Thunder Wave
Rain Dance
Roar

EMPOLEON@? (Torrent - ????)
Surf
Ice Beam
Yawn
?

I was kinda thinking modest or serious for luxray, and naughty or naive for empoleon

UMBREON@? (Synchronize - Impish)
Baton Pass
Mean Look
Moonlight
Torment

Give it Leftovers as the item if you can, and so it can actually do some damage, replace Torment with Toxic. You can also replace Moonlight with Double Team, but that is entirely up to you.

ARCANINE@? (Flash Fire - Modest)
Flamethrower
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
?

Fill in the last slot with Dragon Pulse and give it some more Leftovers. Or, if you have only one and gave it to Umbreon, a Shell Bell will do.

NIDOKING@? (Rivalry - Adamant)
Megahorn
Earthquake
Roar
Poison Spikes

Replace Roar with Stone Edge and Poison Spikes with Brick Break. Also, give it either Black Sludge or a Choice Scarf to hold.

LUXRAY@? (Rivalry - ????)
Thunder Bolt
Thunder Wave
Rain Dance
Roar

Because Luxray is soooo much better as a physical sweeper, and you probably don't actually have him/her yet, replace Thunderbolt with Spark, Rain Dance for Fire Fang, and Ice Fang instead of Roar. You'll have to breed with an Arbok to get it the to Fang moves. Also, you may want to replace Thunder Wave with Crunch. If you do, give it a Choice Band. If not, give another set of Leftovers. One more thing, make it Adamant.

EMPOLEON@? (Torrent - ????)
Surf
Ice Beam
Yawn
?

Flash Cannon is the best move for the last slot, so give it that. Also, give it more Leftovers and a Calm/Modest nature.

I was kinda thinking modest or serious for luxray, and naughty or naive for empoleon
