i know alot of people have their favorites of them, i like some myself too, but does anyone else here besides me stray from using legendaries due to the fact they are unfair and unrealisitic? i myself consider people who use them cheap because they were too lazy to raise a different, weaker, more fair and realisitic pokemon from lvl 5...if you do use legendaries state why here and your reasoning, i think it'd make for an interesting debate...

I'm half-and-half on that one. I use them in Battle Frontier, but not it real battles.

I agree with this as well. I don't use legendaries much at all. I just find it alot like playing Mortal Kombat and only using Scorpions rope move over and over again until you've won the battle. It takes no actual effort or know-how. I'd rather raise a team from lv.5 and accomplish big things with them than catch a legendary and use it over and over again. The only real interest I have in legendaries is for my pokedex. :?

Ubers include Wobbuffet. So not all Ubers are legendaries. Am I right with this?

I dont use legendary Pokemon, but I use pokemon with legendary stats (dragonite, metagross...).

And i think no, Wobbuffet is not an uber, his Overall max stat is 1509 and mewtwo's, for example, is 2059.
Or did I understand the word "uber" in a different way?

ubers and legendaries are different, a wobbuffet with counter and mirror coat is a challenge but not crazy hard to beat, however a kyogre with crazy stats and a never miss thunder attack is more or less unstoppable...same goes for things like a groudon with solar beam and other legendaries with their crazy stats...a wobuffet is "good" in a sense but it can what? 8 moves? thats by no means an uber...

No, uber is a classification in Netbattle that has evolved into a word meaning over the top. For example, I say that "Pokemon Pearl and Diamond is uber cool!" whereas the actual meaning of it is used in this kind of context: "Rayquaza is in the Uber class, because of its high stats and varied movepool."

Or at least, that's what I think.

As for legendaries...I don't like using them. There's just no sense of accomplishment. I mean, with a Legendary, they are easy to find the "best one'" because the majority of them (save for Lati's and Dogs) stay in one place. Get a MasterBall, face it, capture it, check it's nature. If its rubbish, turn it off start it again.

Go and EV train it (which is super easy because of its high level) raise it to lv.100 (which is again easy because of the above reason) and then you have the best Pokemon in the game.

I would rather hatch my own Pokemon, struggle with EVs, battle with it right from lv 5 all the way up to 100 and feel a great sense of achievement from doing so.

The only legendary I use is my Lugia. It has Calm Mind, Recover, Psychic, Aeroblast. Now tell me, how the hell could you resist that? Calm Mind x6 Recover away the damage, and sweep with Psychic. Absolutely boring battle, to win like that. I prefer to win battles with pokemon I know are powerful due to my raising of them. not because they have infinite stats...

well in those means wobuffet is by no means "over the top" its easily taken out, same with pokemon such as dragonite and salamence, anything with an ice beam sends em crying...and yeah pokemon like that lugia it'd seem boring to use and MASSIVELY unfair...

Wobbuffet- He can't damage you, if you don't attack. The only thing you have to do is to MAX out your attack or SP. Attack stat and defeat it- one hit K.O.

Groudon- His ability is suicide, a pokemon with Solarbeam or any strong fire attack can defeat him.

Kyogre- The same as Groudon. Thunder, and it's dead.
they both don't have an "uber" speed.

But the other legendaries are unstopable, and I don't use them. I do the same thing as The Obsidian Wolf.

I don't use legendaries that much because my Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza got deleted cause of a pokemon copy cheat (BUT REALLY THE CHEAT WORKED) So my only Legendaries (Sadly) now are the 3 Regis

Wobufet can be one of the most deadly. If you start with and they'll problably use some non damaging move and then you use encore. Then if it's a status inflicting one then use safegaurd. then you switch to any other poke and the other one will still have to use the nondamaging move.

exac tly. this is the reason why wobbuffet is considered uber. not because it can attack you to death like mewtwo or rayquaza, but because it almost guarantees to take at least one or two of your pokes with it. there arent many pokes that can OHKO wobbuffet. even a kyogre with drizzle and stab on hydropump would find it hard. a dark type can sit there and bite/crunch it and watch as mirror coat does nothing. but in reality wobbuffet would just switch out, or use encore.

its pretty easy to beat wobbuffets in game, since they have a pretty random strategy, but in the hands of an intelligent person they are very deadly. against a salamence they can encore a dragon dance, or they can encore a leech seed and then switch in a grass type. the list goes on.

as for using legends, i guess i have a good collection of strong legends with good natures and EVs, but i dont really use them. mainly just when i battle in mt battle. send out a level 100 mewtwo/rayquaza with a low level poke youre trying to raise and it will get so many exp points its not funny. and the opponents usually attack the uber. its really boring when you watch pokemon battles on youtube, and theyre all like mewtwo+kyogre vs groudon+mewtwo.......

I think that it's always more important to try and win with your favourites, in particular the ones you've reared as Selsix said [/Karen-GSC-E4-esque].

Where would the fun be in not knowing what strategy ur opponent will use next if we all used legendaries? I take all my original squad into the frontier.

I know, I don't know why, but using a legendary seems...wrong.

I pretty much never use legendary's beacuse i like training pokemon from a low level. I also don't use them beacuse they seem pretty unfair.

I do posses legendaries, but they're really just to complete my pokedex, because I don't really like feeling like I need to rely on their unfair advantage. It feels much more gratifying to win using other pokemon, mostly those you like. I did have the final forms of the first 3 starter fire pokemon on my team, with varied attacks and they still worked well even with the mixed weakness to water.

I also don't find it very realistic to use a legendary pokemon in battle because there is only supposed to be one (or very very rare) and no actual trainer would have it in their possesion.

I also enjoy the feeling of taking down a legendary, or even a team of them with my non-legendary team. You feel acomplished like the time and effort you put into your hand selected team has come to fruition. Even legendaries do not guarantee a victory against every team out there.

I use legendaries because of their power. I use the Pokemon I like and that are also strong. In my Gold version I only use one legend (but then again, that team needs major refining), and in my LG I use three. That team needs fixing too, but I like winning with my faves. Wait, Earthquake and Thunder on the same team...Maybe I won't change it at all! Nooblets beware.

(I do think that having a six-legend team is stupid. Where is the variety? Besides, you can't guarantee their varied types AND them all being good Pokemon. Sure, two or three are okay, but more than that is definitely overdoing it. Do you agree?)

I think using übers are... cheap. I use übers only if my opponent use it. And I have no more then 2 übers in my team, although I do have more then 2 legends.

And oh:

Wikipedia wrote:

Due to Wobbuffet’s extreme nature, it is disallowed from competitive play, because Wobbuffet will almost always give the player an easy advantage in battle, even against higher-level foes. That is not to mention a particularly unsavory battle scenario: If a trainer battle pits two Wobbuffet against each other, it would be impossible for either side to ever win a battle without one player resigning (due to the Wobbuffet not having any frontal offensive moves as well as their Shadow Tag abilities preventing each other from escape). A battle between two Wobbuffet, each holding Leftovers, would never end, since Wobbuffet's extremely weak Struggle would deal less damage than the Leftovers heals. However, in Diamond & Pearl, Shadow Tag was tweaked so that if two Wobbuffet (or any other Pokémon with Shadow Tag) are sent against each other, they CAN switch out.

Um...there is a fine line between ubers and legendaries. Ubers are things like Deoxys/Mewtwo/Lugia/Ho-oh/Groudon/Kyogre etc. Legendaries aren't as powerful (the trios) so I don't know what everyone's gripe is about legendaries. People complaining about legendaries is stupid, since they're not really that much more powerful than "normal" pokemon.

I'd use Suicune/Raikou/Zapdos. Does that make me a "stupid noob" who is "cheap?" No. Learn the differences, people.
