Is it possible to have Shinies that aren't wild?

I'm just asking because I just encountered a Shiny Espeon that was owned by a trainer. It was on 7 Island in Trainer Tower. I was in doubles & one of the twins had a green Espeon. I thought Shinies only appeared in the wild............huh

That is planned, if you look at the guide.
Anyway, there is breeding. But, trainers will either always have it, or never have it (like the tower) |

Oh my, I freaked out about the same shiny. The green Espeon. Then I learned that its set in every game. Most set shinys are in the battle tower. That's so weird though, because I saw that shiny, reset my game for no reason, came back and battled the twins again, and Espeon was still shiny.

Well, it does make sense that other trainers have albino pokemon...
