This is a log from netbattle, and I feel this is a truly memorable log by Starling (BTW it isnt mine) :

Alright, I'm semi-new to online battling. I've been focusing on perfecting an all-fire-types team, because without some gimmick like that I wouldn't find competitive battling very interesting, personally. That explains the fire types you'll see in the log. But the point is I had a battle that was the most maddening and annoying thing ever. I fought a team where everyone had baton pass, and the core was this Umbreon with mean look, baton pass, wish, and moonlight, who WOULD NOT DIE, and couldn't kill me! He just sat there healing for hours!

Anyway, I thought this guy had a pretty interesting strategy, I watched it mow down a lot of people, who also wished they had OHKO moves at some point I'm sure, and I was pulling my hair wishing I had brought one along. I managed a miracle victory with a critical hit at the perfect time. But in case anyone wants to share in my frustration, I will post the log now.

Battle Log:
Battle Mode: Ruby/Sapphire
Rule: Sleep Clause
Rule: Freeze Clause
Rule: Self-KO Clause
Rule: Apply PP Ups
Rule: Battle Timeout
Rule: Unrated
Rule: Show Enemy HP
Starling (All Fire) vs BH. Begin!

Starling (All Fire) sent out Tiger Uppercut! (Lv.100 Arcanine)!
BH sent out Ninjask (Lv.100 Ninjask)!

I'm always glad to see a ninjask in front. That's why I start with Arcanine. At this point I was liking my odds.

Tiger Uppercut!'s Intimidate cuts Ninjask's Attack!
Cromat has started watching.

Begin Turn #1
Tiger Uppercut! used Extremespeed!
(245 damage)
A critical hit! I was expecting him to sub, then I'd roar next turn. But this was an added bonus. I was really liking my odds at this point.

---------------------------------
Ninjask used Substitute!
It was too weak to make a Substitute!
---------------------------------
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its Speed!
Ninjask's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #1

Starling (All Fire)'s Tiger Uppercut!: 322 HP
BH's Ninjask: 101 HP
BH: oh yams
Cromat: omg x 2
Starling (All Fire): eat critical hit and die
BH: yes sir
Starling (All Fire): maybe eevee trainer was onto something with that no-criticals-clause

Begin Turn #2
BH withdrew Ninjask!
BH sent out Vaporeon (Lv.100 Vaporeon)!
---------------------------------
Tiger Uppercut! used Extremespeed!
(77 damage)
---------------------------------
Vaporeon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #2

Starling (All Fire)'s Tiger Uppercut!: 322 HP
BH's Vaporeon: 416 HP
Professor Oak has started watching.

Begin Turn #3
Tiger Uppercut! used Sunny Day! I was predicting surf or hydro pump, and I knew I'd be faster

The sunlight got bright!
---------------------------------
Vaporeon used Acid Armor!
Vaporeon's Defense sharply rose! oh, the stat-up game. I know how to deal with that, I says to myself

---------------------------------
The sunlight is strong.
Vaporeon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #3

Starling (All Fire)'s Tiger Uppercut!: 322 HP
BH's Vaporeon: 445 HP
Professor Oak has left.
BH: :<

Begin Turn #4
Vaporeon used Baton Pass!
BH sent out Umbreon (Lv.100 Umbreon)!
---------------------------------
Tiger Uppercut! used Roar!
Umbreon fled from battle!
Tauros (Lv.100 Tauros) was dragged out!
Tauros's Intimidate cuts Tiger Uppercut!'s Attack!
Tiger Uppercut!'s White Herb restored its status!
---------------------------------
The sunlight is strong.
End of turn #4

Tauros usually has quake, which is one of the three deadly dangers to my team (rock slide and swift swimmers being the other two). Fortunately, I evolved measures for them. I gamble that this isn't a choice bander

Starling (All Fire)'s Tiger Uppercut!: 322 HP
BH's Tauros: 301 HP
Starling (All Fire): you wasted my white herb!
Starling (All Fire): hulk MAD white herb + overheat is the staple of my team. it's a fast strong strike team. and stab'd sunny day'd overheat is even stronger than stab'd reversal. Or blaze in place of sun works too. I always hate to see intimidate waste it.

Begin Turn #5
Starling (All Fire) withdrew Tiger Uppercut!!
Starling (All Fire) sent out Kooper (Lv.100 Torkoal)!
---------------------------------
Tauros used Earthquake!
(147 damage)
It's super effective! I win the gamble. No choice band. Under 50% damage means I live long enough to explode.

---------------------------------
The sunlight is strong.
Kooper's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #5

Starling (All Fire)'s Kooper: 218 HP
BH's Tauros: 301 HP
now what I figure he'd do is keep quaking, since 2 more will kill torkoal.

Begin Turn #6
BH withdrew Tauros!
BH sent out Vaporeon (Lv.100 Vaporeon)!
---------------------------------
Kooper used Explosion!
(351 damage)
Kooper fainted!
BH: stopit okayyyyyyy
BH: ;_;
Starling (All Fire): it's not my fault, I wanted to KO tauros
Starling (All Fire) sent out Dry Bones (Lv.100 Houndoom)!
---------------------------------
The sunlight is strong.
Vaporeon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #6

Starling (All Fire)'s Dry Bones: 291 HP
BH's Vaporeon: 123 HP
whoops, I wanted to eliminate the quaker. Not to worry though... I have one turn of sun left

Begin Turn #7
Dry Bones used Solar Beam!
(123 damage)
It's super effective!
Vaporeon fainted!
BH sent out Mr. Mime (Lv.100 Mr. Mime)!
---------------------------------
The sunlight faded.
End of turn #7

Starling (All Fire)'s Dry Bones: 291 HP
BH's Mr. Mime: 284 HP
by this point I figure I have it in the bag

Begin Turn #8
Dry Bones used Crunch!
(160 damage)
It's super effective!
Mr. Mime's Special Defense fell!
---------------------------------
Mr. Mime used Trick!
Mr. Mime switched items with Dry Bones!
Mr. Mime obtained White Herb.
Dry Bones obtained Choice Band.
Mr. Mime's White Herb restored its status! d'oh, there goes another herb

---------------------------------
End of turn #8

Starling (All Fire)'s Dry Bones: 291 HP
BH's Mr. Mime: 124 HP
BH:
He'll probably switch, but that's okay. A Crunch from this houndoom should put a good-sized dent in most things.

Begin Turn #9
BH withdrew Mr. Mime!
BH sent out Umbreon (Lv.100 Umbreon)! except that >_>

---------------------------------
Dry Bones used Crunch!
(40 damage)
It's not very effective...
Umbreon's Special Defense fell! But that's a good thing

---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #9

Starling (All Fire)'s Dry Bones: 291 HP
BH's Umbreon: 378 HP
Starling (All Fire): is that so

With my Houndoom stuck on endless crunches thanks to choice band, he no doubt intends to mean look.

Begin Turn #10
Starling (All Fire) withdrew Dry Bones!
Starling (All Fire) sent out Malchior (Lv.100 Charizard)! Seemed like the best option at the time. Malchior is my physical sweeper, he has brick break, earthquake, rock slide and overheat. I knew Umbreon could likely be a baton passer, so I figure Malchior is the one poke I have who can handle whatever he passes too.

---------------------------------
Umbreon used Mean Look!
Malchior can't escape now!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #10

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 394 HP
And this is where it begins. It could have ended right here. the previous crunch lowered his SD, so two overheats could have killed him.

Begin Turn #11
Malchior used Overheat!
(192 damage) Just short of 50%! I can still KO him with the next one though if I'm lucky

Malchior's Special Attack sharply fell!
Malchior's White Herb restored its status!
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Wish!
Umbreon made a Wish!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #11

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 226 HP

Begin Turn #12
Malchior used Overheat!
(210 damage) NOOO! He has 16 hp left for all you counting at home

Malchior's Special Attack sharply fell! And my overheat is now useless.

---------------------------------
Umbreon used Moonlight!
Umbreon regained health!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Wish came true!
Umbreon regained health! And he is now back at full health. No regrets about choosing Charizard though. If he hadn't wasted my white herb on Arcanine, I could have switched to that and used two overheats that WOULD have KO'd him. But he DID waste my white herb, so that wasn't an option. The same if he hadn't choice-banded my Houndoom. Grrr... Well, time to Brick Break him and see how it goes.

End of turn #12
Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 394 HP

Begin Turn #13
Malchior used Brick Break!
(104 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Wish!
Umbreon made a Wish!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #13

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 314 HP

Hmm...

Begin Turn #14
Malchior used Brick Break!
(92 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Starling (All Fire): grrr
Umbreon used Moonlight!
Umbreon regained health!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Wish came true!
Umbreon's HP is full!
End of turn #14

At this point I realize my dilemma

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 394 HP
Starling (All Fire): it won't die!

Begin Turn #15
Malchior used Brick Break!
(92 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Wish!
Umbreon made a Wish!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #15

I'm trapped, and can't do any damage to this guy

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 326 HP

Begin Turn #16
Malchior used Brick Break!
(97 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Mean Look!
Malchior can't escape now!
---------------------------------
Starling (All Fire): I'll get a critical one of these days
Umbreon's Wish came true!
Umbreon regained health!
End of turn #16

This is going nowhere.

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 394 HP

Begin Turn #17
Malchior used Brick Break!
(97 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Wish!
Umbreon made a Wish!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #17

Nowhere fast

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 321 HP

Begin Turn #18
Malchior used Earthquake!
(62 damage)
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Mean Look!
Malchior can't escape now!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Wish came true!
Umbreon regained health!
End of turn #18

But... what is his plan?

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 394 HP

Begin Turn #19
Malchior used Brick Break!
(103 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Wish!
Umbreon made a Wish!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #19

It probably seems obvious to you, but at this point I had no idea what he's intending to do with this umbreon who can't hurt me

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 315 HP

Begin Turn #20
Malchior used Brick Break!
(105 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Umbreon used Baton Pass!
pokecream has started watching.
BH sent out Ninjask (Lv.100 Ninjask)!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Wish came true!
Ninjask regained health!
Ninjask's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #20

And then I understand. But am helpless to do anything about it.

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Ninjask: 284 HP
Starling (All Fire): oh, so that's how it is

Begin Turn #21
Ninjask used Substitute!
Ninjask made a Substitute!
---------------------------------
Malchior used Rock Slide!
The Substitute took damage for Ninjask!
Ninjask's Substitute faded!
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Ninjask's Speed Boost raised its Speed!
Ninjask's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #21

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Ninjask: 223 HP

Umbreon regained health!
---------------------------------
Malchior used Brick Break!
(104 damage)
It's super effective!
---------------------------------
Umbreon's Leftovers restored its HP a little!
End of turn #25

Oh super. Now it's the same situation, except Ninjask passed his speed boost on, so Umbreon is faster, and can moonlight if I critical and get him near death. Now he is bonafided impossible for me to kill. And now I'm really wishin I had a OHKO move somewhere on my team. Even if I do manage to kill whatever he passes too, It becomes clear to me that I cannot beat an umbreon with TWO healing moves.

Starling (All Fire)'s Malchior: 298 HP
BH's Umbreon: 305 HP
Starling (All Fire): what is this, a circle?

Begin Turn #26

Begin Turn #39
Umbreon used Baton Pass!
BH sent out Smeargle (Lv.100 Smeargle)! This Smeargle, for those of you keeping count, has hyper mega speed, and two layers of barrier passed to it. I don't know what this creature had for moves, but I'm sure it's not good. I figure this is the end for me.

---------------------------------
Malchior used Brick Break!
(314 damage)
A critical hit!
It's super effective!
Smeargle fainted!
BH:

And miracle of miracles, right when I needed it! The mean look, and stat-ups are all broken. He'll have to go through the whole setup process again if he wants to get anywhere. But this time I can have Arcanine take the mean look, and roar it all away. Mr. Mime can't be roared, but he's almost dead, and arcanine has extreme speed. Yes, it looks like the magical critical hit that ended the battle put it in the bag for me. An echo of the critical that started the battle off.

In all fairness though, since it was two strokes of bad luck that led my overheats to not kill umbreon AND not kill mr. mime, perhaps this was karma. Regardless, I was a happy panda.

At this point he just forfeited. Either way though, I thought it was an interesting match, and a freakish and awesome turn at the end, right before I would undoubtedly become toast.

This guy was so lucky at the end. BTW, the red bits are what he was thinking.

Yes but it envolves RSEFRLG movesets and Pokemon and we don't really have a "Net Battle" Forum, I moved it to FRLG Discussion (Now called Kanto Revisited) since those games are newer and some pokemon learn different moves in it.

Now to get back on topic: Wow, that was some battle! I almost thought it would never end myself when I read this  . But that's a very interesting moveset for that {umbreon}, but what a battle; it's a shame that he forfieted though. Peace Out!

I goes to show that you can't rely on one Pokemon like many of my friends. That's my key to victory, generally they'll only have a max of 4 Pokes that are half decent. the rest are rubbish. When you rely on that one, and it dies, it's more likely for the person to quit.

Finally got around to reading it, and wow I'm surprised, that must have taken forever win. I think the stratagey behind BH was interesting and probably very confusing and frustrating.
