I don't really like the Kanto in GSC because it is too short and is missing a lot of the stuff from the RBY Kanto

The original was better. GSC's Kanto took out some of the intresting things. My main peeve was that the Gym Leaders went downhill.

I would say RBY Kanto was better Johto Kanto took some things out and the Gym leaders suck although it was nice to go and see Kanto 5 years later

i like RBY kanto because it is more interesting, and you can do lots of glitches and you can get a mew! <-- through a glitch that doesn't mess up your game.

I pick Red/Blue/Yellow. The main thing was that in the first game, Kanto was everything. The whole game revolved around it and you actually faced the Gym Leaders in order.

In the next generation, however, Kanto was just something they stuck at the end. You went on an adventure, got eight badges, and beat the Elite Four. Then Professor Elm just says "hey, want to got to Kanto?" Things are out of order, the Cerulean Cave is blocked off, and the Safari Zone is closed. You don't even go on an adventure, you just go around collecting badges because you have nothing else to do.

Plus, there isn't a set storyline. In the first generation, the whole thing was Team Rocket taking over everything. In the second generation, it was mainly the Power Plant.

All in all, first generation all the way.

The gsc one was better because you battle Gary and Ash.

Well, "better" is a bias term. I enjoyed the RBY one over the GSC one because it was the main storyline, not a short, post game objective.

I probably couldn't have said it better myself. Its way too short. In fact, GSC was too short. I beat the entire game in 7 days.

RBY Kanto was alot better. I love glitches and I also love Mew! They both were available in RBY but on GSC Kanto you just collected badges and sat around like a rot.

50 hours for completing rby? it takes me 8. gsc has more interesting events. it is actually like the battle frontier if you know what i mean.

i liked gsc kanto because the gym leaders are harder, and the trainer house. i liked rby kanto because of the safari zone and ghost tower and {zapdos}, {moltres}, and {articuno}. it's really a tie.

I'll put it plain and simple. RBY, because u just can't beat the classics.

My main reasons though, are:

-Mew glitch
-In RB, Missingno Glitch
-Actual Storyline
-Good moves on the TM's

I loved being able to go and get the badges. I didn't care there wasn't a set storyline.

Deep down, I've hoped every generation would allow us to do exactly that; travel to another land and earn some extra badges.

RBY Kanto, the only thing I liked about GSC Kanto was that I could fight Red and Blue. The volcano blew up Cinnabar and that made me sad<-- fire lover. Oh yeah, I didn't remember there ever being a volcano in Cinnabar, unless the whole island was a volcano...and they left out the Viridian Forest and the Power Plant was retaken by humans, grrr....

GSC Kanto was a very watered down Kanto. Nothing really to do besides get badges, everything was closed. It was nice to re-visit it though. It felt like i was going home after a very long time. The music was excellent to.

You did get to hear about red defeating team rocket and all that. I wish the newer games would mention Jhoto and Kanto in the game.

Kanto in GSC had a few advantages over the original, mainly the graphics and the Trainer House in Viridian, but you are always hard-pressed to outdo the original. In this case, they couldn't. Kanto in RBY was better because it was more of a challenge.

Actually, in Hoenn, there is a guy in Lillycove that says he used to live in Kanto. In D/P, at the beginning there is a news story talking about a team trying to locate the Rsd Garydos and the Olivine gym leader shows up in that game as well.
