I have never read a book in my life, (except half of ''The hobbit'') but I heard that the pendragon series were great.

Both "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Chronicles of Narnia" are excellent, quality book series'. Another REALLY great trilogy I recently red and that I absolutely MUST recommend is "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman. The three books are "The Golden Compass", "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass". Absolutely great read for any fans of Fantasy literature. And of course, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a brilliant, ingenious and all-around stupefying series by the legendary Douglas Adams. If there is a soul in the world who hasn't read these books, GO READ THEM RIGHT NOW.
And Crosman, it's really too bad you haven't read a book in your life. I would even go so far as to saying that it's sad, and tragic. My advice to you is to pick up and read as many books as you can. I don't even know what book to suggest you read first... Wow, you truly are in a tragic situation. Good luck. You're really missing out, man.

I've read the first 4 Harry Potter books but I still can't get into the 5th one. I've read bits of a series of Star Trek books and (if I'm aloud to say in these forums) Pocket Monsters Special manga.

ye i agree with nido all the books he recommended are really good.
i used to only read sci-fi and fantasy series (pshh teenagers....):
dune (frank herbert and the new ones by kevin J and brian herbert), ender's game and shadow series (orson scott card), the foundation series(isaac asimov), hitchhiker's guide (douglas adams), the conqueror's trilogy (timothy zahn), his dark materials (philip pullman), star wars stuff, lotr (tolkien), harry potter (stopped reading these cuz i grew up 8) and discovered it was a ripoff of asimov's mystery style) etc. etc. etc.
but now, sci-fi has gotten kinda old for me and im looking for more "literature". classic stuff like mark twain or john steinbeck. a lil of pop like the da vinci code stuff to spice it up now and then...
and crosman i'd def recommend u read a book. it really helps build literary technique (im sure most schools are looking for something like that) and should be fun.

Oh, that's a good one, Chimaerax. The Ender series is great. Also the Shadow series. Although, the later books in the series (for example, Children of the Mind) are sub-par compared to the earlier ones. Although the first books of both series are the best (Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow). Can't wait for the movie, I'm interested to see how they'd translate it.

I used to like Redwall, but it seemed to be repeating itself in some ways. I like the Pendragon Series, Lord of the Rings, etc.

I just recently started reading the Pendragon books, and I'm quite impressed with them
I'm also a fan of Harry Potter, Redwall, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and The Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett.
A few friends have been trying to get me to read The Wheel of Time....I just have to find the first book in the Library ^_^;

I'm reading the Deptford Mice books, By Robin Jarvis. It's a little like Redwall, but the animal facts are more accurate, and the setting is more beleivable.
Crosman, PLEASE read. I don't care if you have to read a Barny book to say you read a ful book, just READ

Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, if these are what you consider as series. The Star Wars books are really numerous, so I've not really read them in order.
