Women, like men, want someone they can relate to. Boarders, bikers, and bladers (excuse me) usually don't offer anything they're familiar with. Boarders typically don't spend much time taking care of themselves either. It also helps when one doesn't sit around feeling sorry for himself, wondering why women aren't tumultuously flocking to a self-depreciating vagabond. Image Personality is a little more attractive.

Amen, DatVu

I personaly are much, *exaggerates* much different to my fellow Yr8's which mainly comprises of chavs, emos, sportomaniacs or pepole who swear a lot. I, on the other hand, am a individualist. I have half adopted the dying breed of the hippies. Generally being an straight "A" individualist most of your life doesn't have a lot of advantages. But, come now, the (clever) girls generally overlook the unclean, swearing rabble and see a nice, funny, cool (hopefully) unique person. Thats my view. I now want my breakfast! *runs downstairs*...

If wat Datvu said is true, why does my little sister dress, act, and talk, like a boy? She hates being "girly-girl" and she likes the boarders, atheletes, and of course has a crush on Aron carton. (I know it isn't spelled like that, I just tease her with it). So maybe we can't really stereotype girls, saying they want things they can realate too, or all realte to the same thing.

I do agree with Shiny Pichu though, you can tell if a girl is smart if she doesn't pick some cursing, dirt-minded, "cool" freak for the sentimental understanding nice kid. (not saying thats me........)

EDIT: a younger friend of mine (around eight) was just talking to me about a sleepover his older sister had with a few of her friends. He said they were watching his favorite movie when they were going to sleep in the Living room, and he wanted to watch also. He said they got really mad at him and called him a "pervert" because he wanted to watch them sleep. but seriosly! He was EIGHT! He just wanted to watch the movie! Whats the logic behind this? They won't let an eight year old watch a movie because they are going to sleep and he is the opposite gender? I don't get it! Are all girls so protective of themselves? Am I missing a major part of the female mind? Just wondering.

Ah, I can answer that, from my view. Girls often travel in packs because apparently, your life from middle school-until you get common sense revolves around popularity. Also, have you ever seen in cartoons where one girl(or two, a very small minority) is/are a trifle prettier than the rest, and everyone wants to be just like them? That actually happens. Most girls that age revolve around the popular people (mostly girls, I dunno about boys), and thus an amoeba is formed. But it does get disturbing where girls hug other girls in the hallway left and right >_<
Also, I believe having friends (or lots of friends) makes a girl that age feel better about themselves. Often, during that stage, girls get emotional a lot (I sometimes do), and have to have friends for comfort most of the time.

Although, I cannot explain why they hug other people randomly...I'm happy not to be in that amoeba...

And to the eight-year-old thing: ...I am overprotective, but seriously, if I had a sibling who wanted to watch a movie with me (rated G/PG/whatever a comfortable rating is in your country), I'd let him. Does your friend know what "pervert" means? I sure hope he doesn't ask an adult about it...

My word, this is hilarious. Anyways, I'll try to shed some light on the female mind.

Everygirl has their taste, and they don't go for a specific kind of guy necessarily. I personally would rather shoot myself than go out with someone who wasn't intelligent and was a jerk to me. Some girls don't really mind that though, there are twisted people out there.

Girls tend to travel in 'packs' because they usually want to keep talking without having to stop, for fear of losing the continuity of the conversation or forgetting what they were going to say. It also makes some feel safer, in a variety of ways including their standing in the friendship.

I personally don't find it as creepy to see girls hugging as I do to see guys smacking each other on the butt, grabbing each other's butts, and saying things like 'ooo that's nice' in the halls. I find that much more disturbing.

Girls do like something they can relate too, just like friends want to have at least one thing they can relate to with each other. And the whole musician thing...well there's a variety of reasons...to my knowledge. While I can't say I personally can relate to this, it usually has something to do with the thought that musicians are more romantic...for whatever reason [probably media influenced]. Or they give off some image that attracts the girl in one way or another [like a girl may be attracted to a rock muscian because he gives off the impression of being wild and untamable].

Uh, well I know I'm a lot different than most girls, but I like musicians coz I admire their talent, seeing as I have all of no musical talent myself :P

As for the pack thing, I think Gardy~ and ~Crimson~ (lol with the ~s) covered it well. It's the whole "Lol we need more of us to be cool" sorta thing, I guess. Heh, personally I don't need a group of people around me to be secure. I'm weird, though.

And as for your last question, I hate to sound cliched, but everybody likes different things. Some girls may like emos, but you can bet that there are just as many who like "wood pushers" and "sproket jockeys" (lol at the names)

I can't help but find it amusing that for a thread asking questions about girls, most of the replies are from guys. :P

Hee, yeah most of the stuff I said were just observations about a lot of girls. I rarely go in packs, normally only when I'm really into a conversation and I don't want to lose my train of thought [happens enough as it is]. Half the time I forget I'm with my friends and I walk off without noticing, at school. It's really pathetic.

Oh and Flarey, just Crimson works. When I was making my account it refused to take Crimson for some reason, so I just added the ~ so I wouldn't have to really change my desired name.

lol this whole topic.

Anyway, I am in no way an expert (see gender), but here's my opinions:

1. I have no idea why they travel in packs. At my last school, they acted a little like hyenas, finding some poor unsuspecting kid and... Alas, we knew him well.

2. There's only one thing wrong with that statement - It only really works for players of certain intstruments. My friend, exactly like me, plays guitar. I, meanwhile, am a clarinetist. Guess who has a girlfriend? But then, he actually cares about the whole charade of having a "girlfriend" at his age.

3. Girls like emos? No chance. As for skateboarders, my cousin, who basically fills that role, has a gf.

Actually, there's a fair number of girls who are attracted to 'emo' guys. My friends are always gushing over them, something about them being hot. *shrug* I'm not into the whole dating thing yet, so I can't say I completely understand.

Part of your problem may be that girls tend to go for guys with similar interests. Due to the media-perpetuated image that girls should pay ridiculous amounts of attention to their bodies to get ahead in life -- IE look pretty, be fashionable, don't be too smart, and you'll have friends and a happy family when you grow up -- there's an unfortunate minority of females in sports, especially extreme sports (though that may also be a common sense thing ;) ) and of course video games.

There's a twofold strategy, then, for guys with a male-centric interest who want to attract females. First, put some effort into your appearance. This doesn't mean going out and spending hundreds on designer clothes, but it does include essentials such as bathing and deodorant. Whether it's media hype or just natural instinct, in general girls like to be clean, and in general they prefer guys who follow suite. If you're a heavy gamer, this step also includes getting into shape if you aren't. Ignore what you learned in kindergarten: they aren't as important as personality, but looks still count ;) This may also help explain why girls fall for musicians: if they perform, chances are they have to know how to look nice on stage.

Second, find a girl who shares your interests, or who looks interested in your interests. Unless you're drop-dead gorgeous, filthy rich, or absolutely brilliant at something, you won't be able to starstrike girls into liking you, so find someone you can build a friendship with first. Never condescend, and if you're teaching her something about your interest because she hasn't tried it yet, try not to treat it like a joke. Also, don't be desperate. Having a girlfriend is NOT a necessity, having girls who are friends will be much better for you in the long run. Not being frightened by girls is a good start there ;)

Now, here's a question for guys: why is it that I met a man who's sensitive, intelligent, fluent in Japanese, a videogamer and a roleplayer, but he already has a boyfriend?

That image isn't really appropriate. Do you even understand what it is? It's a slam against people who could be classified as emo. It's insulting them. It always amazes me how idiotic people are, when they make fun of people who are already extremely emotionally unstable.

Some girls may see them as someone who's hurt and they want to help them. Others, well, I don't know. No one can give you concrete answers because everything you're asking is subjective. There's more than one possibility for everything you've asked, so you'll never be content with the answers you're given.

I hate how everyone stereotypes emos. Sure, maybe a few harm themselves. What about "cool" people who sniff glue? Isn't that the same basic thing?

Well, if you asked some of my old classmates, their reply would be "'hur, hur, neeky gay". Yes, I think those sort of people are idiots. Yes, I think they sniff glue. My personal reply would be: Why aren't there any girls like that where I live??? Followed by: Lady Luck is a moody cow.

If you can just be friends with him, be happy.

I'd say they travel in packs to give themselves a sense of security.
And also, like boys they do like to have friends and some friends they can share secrets with.
Some girls prefer more than one friend they can talk to.

P.s. i have a question....
Theres this girl in my class who (most of the time)when i glance at her she's staring at me!Ironically i like her.
Whats going on?
P.s.2.(lol)I hope this post is not necromancy because i doubt a few days will count.

either you're interesting to watch, she's really creepy, you constantly have boogers in your nose, or she likes you as well.

maybe say something to her and ask her how her weekend was to get things rolling?

I thought it would be more:she really creepy or i'm interesting to watch.
Its weird because when she does it she has no emotion in her face :?
And when she see's me looking she looks away and pretends nothing happend.
That thing about the weekend...might not work(but i'll try)cos she's more one of those silent types...here wat i'm saying? The conversation would proberly be....

Me:Hi
Her:........

Thanks for the help

Is she gothic? Does she wear alot of black or dark colors? Usually, goths have no expression, or have a very mean expression (hard to tell the difference from goths, depressed persons, and mean people.

Also, its P.P.S., Not ps2 (Thats a game system, lol)
And, for it to be necromancy, it'd have to be at least 18 days.
