Post CSI
Who here likes CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. It can be the original, Miami, NY, or wherever they have it. I recently finished season 2 of the the Las Vegas (original) and saw the Cross Jurisdiction which is actually the pilot for CSI Miami, and I've gotta say, I love them both. My favorite character would be Gil Grissom. I just love him, hes hilarious. What do ya'll think of it?

Any of the CSI shows are ludicrous. There is some truth and homage to the field of forensics in the show, but to see the same show itself replicated half a dozen times, along with similar shows on other networks, and the original CSI Files on Discovery, it loses its luster quickly. Moreover, they solve most crimes within the hour (days or weeks in episode time), the amount of DNA evidence they find and where is unbelievable (a strand of hair found on the door frame of a completely charred car? I think not), and the CSI agents carry guns and chase perps.

I think its alright. But as Datvu said some things are unrealistic.

Normal Crime Scene Investigators do what their name suggests. They investigate, gather evidence and hand it over to the courts or the Police. They don't go running around shooting people and chasing suspects.

Right, but what makes the show intresting is just that. Where they find the evidence, chase them down, interigate them, and lock them away. People like that. If it was just lookign, and gathering evidence, the show wouldn't of been that popular. So that's why I like it, but I know it's not even remotly true.

CSI is actually pretty close to how CSIs actually do their job. some of it is changed to make the show more interesting, but the sciences, equipment, and methods in the lab are very close to actual methods.
