Personally, I hate cheating in any form. I have reached a state of desparation to get Mew, Celibi and Deoxys (not Jirachi, my friend has the disc) so I may use it eventually. I only want to get the items that let you catch them, however, I don't think that's possible. My friend used AR to complete his Pokedex, but I cast him in shame for it. He puts to shame people like me, who are working hard in FR/LG and R/S/E to complete them the honorable way. The only cheaters I do not despise are ones who only use it to get Mew, Celebi, or Deoxys-NOTHING ELSE! Cheaters who use cheats to get things they could anyway are too lazy to do it the right way.

In my opinion, cheating is okay as long as you're not one of those people that "I shark Psycho Boost on Mew2 so I can be bettr that U! olol" in order to beat your friend in poke-battles.

Also, Dark Dragon Lugia, your above post makes me lol.

In Red I always cheated. I feel bad about it, and I could have done without it, though. I would do the Cinnabar Trick to get unlimited Rare Candies/Master Balls.

I recently reset my Gold game and am trying to not cheat at all. It feels good, even after painstakingly walking to hatch FOUR Eevee eggs, trading from Silver/Crystal to get evolution stones, hatching two Tyrogue eggs, hatching a Chansey egg to trade for Aerodactyl, and winning the Bug Catching Contest twice for two Sun Stones.

It's hard work, and I only plan to cheat for Mew by using the RBY Mew trick, which actually doesn't count because it's not cheating in the Gold game... Hee!

But I am totally against using Gameshark. I can't tell you how many times my friends beat me with a Lv. 100 team of the three Legendary Dogs and the three Legendary birds.

why should anyone cheat?
As far as i know, no pokemon is unobtainable. Although it could potentialy cost me $1000+ to get Mew, Celebi and Deoxys, i will be happy and proud, and generaly feel way better getting them the honest way.

Where's the fun in having uber-god pokemon if u didnt work for them and just cheated?

I'm not gonna tell anyone not to cheat, cuz someone always will, but i will pitty those of you who do cheat, because you're cheating your selves out of a great game.

I paid 30 bucks for the jirachi disc on ebay about a year ago, and i am proud to of got it the honest and fair way.

And for all you cheaters, pheer my hand, caught hand trained, 100% awesome blissy. It might not be the best pokemon in the universe, but i am proud to of found and raised that 1 in a million pokemon myself, without cheating.

uh... just wondering... isnt GS and AR like, the same price as a pokemon game? cuz i think it is here...
Just find someone u can trade with. like, me an my friend, he got LG and Ruby XD, an i got FR and S, and Colossium.
I'm not saying "everyone go out an buy 3 games" but really... this is a forum where people all over the world post, im sure u could probably find someone in ur area to trade an battle.

There are very few pokemon that are not obtainable in games, and there's quite a few people who have more than 1 game (except for kids with parents that go "you already have pokemon, blah blah blah").

oh yeah an before i forget again... one thing i was gonna say in my last post...

Congrats to anyone who is at least trying not to cheat in their games.

i think that cheating is alright if you've already pretty much beat the game, otherwise it takes the fun out of it. I'm unlikely ever to attend a nintendo event or anything like that, so i fell justified in cheating after i've done everything i can. (of course, cheating and then battling with your friends is no fun either, unless you cheat them good stuff too).
I cheat a lot with my ruby version (only after i beat the game, of course), but i am perfectly honest with my other versions. Cheating before you've beaten the game really takes the fun out of it. There's a game that if you push f12 and f4 at the same time, you win the entire game instantly. I mean, what's the point in that? you might as well just have the computer turned off and keep pushing the spacebar over and over again.

If I honestly cared what you guys think of what I say, that would not be my avatar. "Practice what I preach"? I've never once told anybody to watch their language, nor have I ever edited anybody's posts. In fact, I'm one of the biggest supporters of free speech on these forums. The only reason why we have the damn language filter set up anyway is because TK doesn't want oversensitive parents whining to him about what their pwecious CHIIIILDRENS have been exposed to. I also think this "protection of fragile minds" idea that today's parents worship is a crock of BS. So I think I will practice what I preach and tell you to shut the hell up for making such a big deal about a comment I said.

HAHA. My parents dunt care much of what i see anywhere. Nor do i care about there lives either. So true... Anyways if you dunt care then whyd i get in trouble from jigglypuff for having a quote from scary movie 4. Thing is if you just put a disclamier in bold letters on the front page of the forums you wont realy need to have launguage filters. Parents can just be stupid. Everybody cna be stupid. If i didnt personly filter my language in any of the OnRPGs i play i would be banded in every single on of em. So ya know what everyone. If you dont like me, then go away.

I cheat in preety much all the non-online gmaes i play so whatever.
