Maybie you got them mixed up... Otherwise, you may be thinking about the gym trainers. They don't always have the same type of pokemon as the leader. Such as a trainer in Jamie's gym (Koga used to be there) had a Nidoking, a ground type in the Johto games. Edit--- Oh yeah, I had forgotten that! Hypno can learn Poison Gas, hence why he was in Koga's gym, and Venomoth can learn Psychic, which is why he would be in Sabrina's (I don't remeber if he was, though). And just to let you know, Nidoking is a Poison/Ground type, which is why a trainer had one in Koga's gym.

Giovanni does have a Persian (in Yellow, that is), and it isn't related to Ground, is it? Anyway, Venomoth does learn Psybeam and Psychic, which might be why Sabrina uses it. _________________
