As of late, it's seemed that people have been using the polling system far too frivolously. A poll is fine, but there have been so many as of late that they are becoming more of a nuisance than harmless fun. As such, please take the following into consideration:
1) Have you created a poll thread recently? If you have, give it about 4 days to a week before you make another.
2) Has this polling topic been created already? Topics like "favorite type" or "best special attack" or "favorite legendary" tend to be brought up a lot. If you feel you need to comment on it, look for an older one (Not to say that you should dig for old topics, of course. Use your best judgement in whether or not you should "revive" a topic)
3) How many polling topics are on the first page? If there are along the lines of 3 or 4 or even 5 poll topics on the first page that have been recently replied to, there really doesn't need to be more than that.
Basically, polls are all well and good, until they become needlessly excessive. Try and take these thoughts into consideration before you create a topic that might possibly be spammish. Thank you.

Ah well, I would like to apologise to everyone here, especially the Elite Four and moderators, for creating too many polls. I always wait till about a week or two before creating a new one, but the "Fav Grass type" poll was intended to be my last for the time being. Usually I try to classify the polls according to type, so that they are all of different types and thus do not resemble one another, unlike the many "Fav legendery" polls, which all seem the same to me. I thought people could also use these threads to discuss movesets and strategies for that particular type, instead of creating topics like "What grass pokemon should i use?". In this way the polls can save on other topics as well.
I was a mod in the old psypoke forum (though only for a while, because soon after I was promoted to mod, the site went down permanently), so I understand the importance of keeping the forum spam-free and less cluttered, so once again sorry about the excessive polling

Would it be okay if we created Topics that also had a Poll Supplement?
By that I mean, that the Poll is not the sole reason for the Topic being created.

You should move all the polls, then make a new forum, like a bag of polls, move them into there, then delete any new polls after that that aren't in the poll bag.

We have already considered that, but personally I think it's still easier to classify polls under their respective versions. Basically this problem isn't going to be solved by just this measure; we need everyone's cooperation to keep away spammish polls.

Will people be banned if they poll too much?
maybe you should just make a poll area then have different sections with different polls.
Just a thought.....
it would be like the site now but instead it has all polls like
Hoenn polls, Kanto polls, Jotho polls, Music polls, and others like that.

No, that's not serious enough to get you banned. You will be warned if the moderators find that you are posting too excessively, so if you adhere you'll be fine.
I don't think there's a need for specific forum sections, just for polls. Anyway, there hasn't been excessive posting of polls for quite some time now, so there's no need for these really
Suggestions about the forums should be posted in Viridian Forest forum section instead.
