Today's episode didn't make any sense. You can't do any damage with
Thunder Wave, but Manectric still managed to knock out Ash's Torkoal...

And Ash using Overheat three times even though he already knew that
it becomes weaker each time???

What's going on here???
The Anime is becoming completely isolated from the actual game itself!

The TV show is a kind of parallel universe for entertainment purposes and to promote the games at the same time, so of course the Anime writers take liberties and simplify the games to make the show.

The Anime isn't supposed to be exactly like the games, that's how it is. In that quote Frost was explaining why there are no numerical levels in the Anime, but it applies here too. Sure, the creatures are the same in the Anime and in the games, but that's about where it ends.

In the game, moves like Thunder Wave do not do any damage, but theoretically speaking, any form of Electricity is bound to do some damage, even if it's not fatal. So sometimes the anime makes more sense than the game.

Ah........

By the way, did the Kids WB Network show this episode to you guys?
I thought that they were only showing that pokemon movie today.

This is besides the fact that the only station I have that shows Pokemon
is Ytv and they never show any pokemon movies until they're at least 5
or more years old...

I was just curious...

Kids WB seems to be slightly ahead of wherever you live; besides showing the movie, yesterday morning they showed "Disguise Da Limit," which is Episode #338, at 8 AM. Don't worry, though, Kids WB likes to take random mid-season breaks, and that's when other countries tend to catch up to us.

Yes, YTV is crummy! One episode a week, no movies and plenty of commercials!!!

Slightly ahead??? Bah! Humbug! That's a laugh!!!

Just wait!!! A few days from now, YTV will be hundreds of episodes and
movies behind the WB Kids Network!!! :x

I'm not. It results in a bunch of moronic kids on NetBattle crying when they get stomped into the dirt.

Then they accuse of being a cheater...

First of all, the Thunder Wave issue is a pretty moot point. I don't think paralysis has ever been featured in the show before (Flannery's battle showed us that sleep and burn do exist, and Charizard's been frozen, however), and I think being hit by any sort of electricity would actually cause damage.

The Overheat issue was adressed as well. May and Brock specifically said things like "Another Overheat? That's three already!" and the show clearly showed that Torkoal's third Overheat was weaker, because Manectric's Thunder Wave overpowered it easily. The Anime has already clarified that each usage of Overheat is weaker than the last.
