Has any1 else noticed this; that when you use a high critical hit ratio it is always IS a critical hit? I've use slashed about 100 times they all are (well at least my memory says ) critical hits. If you haven't noticed please try for your self. Won't take long, just keep on using slash on Bruno's onix.

Wouldn't is be weirder if a move with a high critical hit ratio seldom gets a critical hit? The point is, you're just lucky that most, if not all, of your Slash attacks are critical hits. I've tried, and there's nothing to suggest that critical hits occur all the time

I don't know about in the game, but I have found that in the first stadium Slash always gave a critical hit.

Not 100% of the time, though it is a ridiculously high ratio. Over the years I've used slash, razor leaf and karate chop thousands of times and I can reacall a few times it wasn't a critical hit, that's the thing though, I can only recall a few times, I remember when it does because its a big deal to me, I'd been playing Red over a year before I ever saw a non-critical slash. I much prefer GSC and up where the ratios at least reasonable.

Yes, Slash has the highest critical hit ratio in the game as far as my experience goes, though they fixed that when they moved on to the 2nd generation.
I had a Charizard, 80% of the time was critical

A Pidgey did a Tackle or Gust on me, I can't remember which, but it took off 3HP and was classed as a 'Critical Hit'.

OK, first off this is a thread about the hax rate of critical hit high moves. Gust and tackle are weak, so I'm deeply sorry for that unlucky critical hit. Good luck with the gyms and train some cool pok

Probably tat only works when ur health falls below half!?

4 out of 5 critical = 4/5
1 out of 5 not critical = 1/5.
Odds of critical + Odds of not critical = 1.
Critical:Not critical = 4/5 : 1/5
You can 'cancel' it down by multiplying both sides by 5.
4:1
Look it up on a maths site.... zzzz

The CH ratio of high-CH mpoves has a few calculations at Smogon, but I'll used the smallest one.
Since 100/64 = 1.56, Basically anything with a base speed higher than 64 would ALWAYS CH.
The others were Base Speed * 4/256, which would STILL mean > 64 Base speed = always CH.
Venusaur has 80
Charizard has 100
Sandslash has 65
Parasect has 30 (Parasect LOLZ)
Dugtrio has 120
Persian has 115
Primeape has 95
Machamp has 55
Victreebel has 70
Farfetch'd has 60 (LOLZ Farfetch'd)
Kingler has 75
Scyther has 105
Pinsir has 85
Kabutops has 80
This essentially means anything except Parasect and Farfetch'd(and lower evolutions of the stated pokemon) will ALWAYS CH on their attacks, even Sandslash, Victreebel, and Kingler.
