Any Pokemon you can catch in a game could be shiny. I found mine in FR at...somewhere. I forgot. And, just to tell you, shiny Ditto still Transforms into a regular, non-shiny Pokemon. I learned that the hard way.

Blue Mew stop saying you caught a shiny mew. Shiny mew's can only be cheated.

Back to the original queries posted in the first post, first of all, Shinies can be found in any generation other than RBY, so yes, you can catch a Shiny Ditto in FR or LG. However, Shiny Ditto doesn't exist in a specific location. Basically, you need to be very lucky to encounter a Shiny Ditto in the wild. Last but not least, every Pokemon has a Shiny version of it. I hope all these answered your queries.
I highly recommend you to read the Shiny Guide on the main site; it should reinforce what you have learnt about Shinies. Here's the link: http://psypokes.com/lab/shiny.php

shiny rare pkmn are random: when you start a new game you might have a shiny kyogre or mew or whatever... but that is random so you can get a shiny mew without cheating!

Anthonyss4, I don't believe that Blue Mew's post could be considered spamming. Spamming is posting multiple useless posts with no relevence to the topic on hand, or clogging a forum with idiotic posts.
On topic:
I think that Master-o-Darkness is right. It's possible to obtain a shiny legendary, since all legendaries have a very small chance of being a shiny when you start a new game. So, it could be possible to get a shiny mew through a Nintendo Event, but it would be VERY unlikely.

bluemew's post was not the only spam. Besides, it was less spammy than your post which pointed out spam -_-"
