I was just looking for some help again.
I saw a thread about breeding a vulpix with a torkoal to get a vupix with heat wave.
I was trying to find a compatible pair before I leveled up the torkoal to get the heat wave attack.. however I've tried several vulpix, with 3 different torkal so far, and the daycare man always says they don't seem to like each other

Is there any way to get a pair of these species that will breed better? perhaps different personalities or something? Or do I just stick with the low chance of 'they don't seem to like each other' and hope for the best.

Any help would be appreciated :)

He seems to always say "They don't like eachother" before and after he gives me an egg. I don't think it really matters. Just leave them there and it should work out.

Are you sure? I could have sworn {vulpix} and {torkoal} were able to make an egg. I'd just leave them in there. Because I remember seeing many conversations on getting Heat Wave on all sorts of Pokemon. And I know one was {vulpix}.

Torkoal + Vulpix/Ninetales = breedable. How else is Ninetales gonna get Heat Wave? :)

And when the breeding man tells you that they don't like each other, that means they're making an egg. You would think its the other way around, but it's not.

Truestar, you misunderstood us ^^ {vulpix} and {torkoal} do make an egg, it was suggested to breed {charizard} and {vulpix} however, which can't breed due to different egg groups.

And yes papersun, I noticed that! I have three eggs from the pair now, go figure huh?

Different messages reflect how long it will take to get an egg.

"The two don't seem to like each other" simply means that you have two different species of pokemon with the same ID number. It takes longest to get an egg this way.

Then there's same species, same ID numbers
And Different Species, Different ID numbers. These are in the middle when it comes to how fast an egg is produced.

And finally, there's same species, different ID Numbers. These will produce an egg the fastest.

If you get "The two prefer to play with other pokemon than each other," then the two are incompatible for whatever reason.
