KOBE BRYANT DUMPED 81 ON THE TORONTO RAPTORS  . Do you think he can hit 100...or more

He's hot right now, if he doesn't do it within the next 5 games, I don't think so.

The fact that he's scored 81 points shows how much of a ball hog he is. 81 points is bad enough anyway without taking into account the fact that he's been scoring 60+ points a game. The only way this is defensible at all is if your team scored 400+ points that night, and that will never happen.

There's a reason there are four other people wearing the same clothes as you out there, Kobe. Take advantage of them and make the game more exciting than 'HEY I GOT THE BALL, TIME TO SCORE'.

I think he could. Kobe Bryant got 62 points last time and this time, 81 points. If he really gets up to 100+, he's is the NBA top scorer. Now, it's up to him.

He got lucky he probaly will never get 80 ever again. Plus its the raptors i think they are the worst team in basketball.

But still a good proformance.

Kobe is worthless in my opinion.

Look at the NBA today, if you even touch the player with the ball while he shoots its an automatic foul.

I also disagree with Kobe being the best player in the NBA today.

Like FW said, Kobe is a Ball Hog and never gets rid of the ball. There are other players who pass Kobe by a long shot. Players like Kevin Garnet, Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, Allan Iverson and Jason Kid.

PS. (Iverson and Garnet are my two favorite players along with my two favorite teams, The Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons). Had to add that in their.

Wrong. The Raptors got screwed over early in several close games against good teams, but they are finally winning the close games. They're not a great team, and almost certainly won't make the playoffs, but they are NOT the worst team in the NBA.

And Wilt's 100 will stand the test of time, just like Hammerin' Hank Aaron's 755.

Because that title belong specially to the Atlanta Hawks.

Wilt Chamberlain Died in October 2002. (Or maybe that was a joke......Oh well)

I do agree that Kobe is by no means the best player in the game, and that the Toronto Raptors could let up 100 points to a bunch of 4th graders.
I also think Kobe scoring 81 is setting a bad example to the young kids who are all getting this "ballhog" mentality as to that they don't have to pass and that they can do everything themselves with a crossover and a fadeaway. But, the NBA doesn't care about that. All they care about is ratings and kobe, the best scorer (NOTE: only the word scorer, not player) in the game, gives them that.

And Kobe (and others of his mentality) are the reason the US does so horribly in the basketball event at the Olympics or any world championship. Their mindset boils down to 'I'm the only one that matters'. As such, instead of a cohesive team that will work together to win, you get 5 super-inflated egos trying to score as many points on their own to inflate their egos even more.

I still think we should send whichever team won the NBA championship that year to the Olympics. Certainly they would do much better than the bunch of idiots we send now.

I agree 1000%. The NBA is trying to emulate the Dream Team of 1992, having a bunch of all-stars on the same team but, there are a few problems.

1) The rest of the world has caught up to the US in terms of basketball.

2) The players PASSED the ball on the Dream Team. The players were good and scored... a lot, but not quite as selfish as they are today.

3) Having 12 of the greatest players EVER (MJ, Magic, Larry Bird, Karl Malone...etc.) on 1 team is a once-ina-lifetime knida thing and the NBA thinks they can make that "dream team" over and over again with a bunch of morons who'd rather try the fadeaway from halfcourt that pass it to the open man right under the basket.

4) That (dram team) is A LOT different than having some 15 of the greatest BALLHOGS in the sport today; let's face it, players aren't as good as they used to be (compared to the rest of the world) , or the young destined-to-be-great players haven't matured enough yet.

5) Its not even that were sending our best players. Were only sending our best scorers. Also, more and more NBA players just dont give a hoot about the olympic basketball team also taking away from the players we have to choose from.

--ON A DIFFERENT NOTE--

I think we should send over the Spurs to the Basketball Championships (International) later this year. They work as a cohesive unit and gel together very nicely. The Pistons would do well too.

And also, I think eventually someone, (just having a REALLY good game) will score 100...eventually

Im sorry but its impossible for him to score 100 points. I know a bunch of bandwagons love him now(not trying to be mean) but if you think about it, he shoots about 50 times a game and ususally only makes 15. Also, any good player like T-mac, Dirk, VC, Paul Pierce could do that if they shot that much.

I think you're being too hard on Kobe. Before you kill me for that, think it this way: are there any other prolific scorers on the team? That would be a no: Parker is ball handler, not a scorer; Odom, Brown, and Mihm are support players even though they have their moments; George may have experience, but he is hardly one to step up EVERY SINGLE GAME; Vujacic and Walton may have talent but far lack the experience.

It is also a great exaggeration to say kobe's shooting percentage it 30 because it isn't, 28/46 is over 50% and very impressive considering that by the 3rd quarter at the very latest the Raptors would have to up their defense on him either through doubling or something else. He has talent, and a drive, his second season saw that even though he lost sight of the greater goal for the TEAM.

I agree though, he does take too many shots. I don't think it's because he's a ball hog though, I think it's because his teammates defer to him too often. Walton passed up an uncontested shot at the end of the game for a contested pass to AND a contested shot from Kobe.

I don't believe he'll ever score 100 though, doing that would require not only many shot attempts, it would require him to make much more than most of those. That cannot be achieved through 3P shooting which is why Wilt could do it, he was probably only matched by Bill in the celtics of yesteryear. He won't be able to carry them to the finals though, definately not, unless his team mates mature far faster than they have so far. Walton would be the one to watch in my opinion, he has the talent and the potential, so he just needs time on the floor.

That said, don't downplay the achievement. With most players averaging single digits, getting into double digits alone is great. Almost equalling the opposing team on his own is almost unprecedented, so if you're going to dislike him, sure, just don't sniff at his achievements.

wenziz, that was a huge necromance .

Anyway, the worst team in the NBA is not Atlanta, record-wise it is Portland (21-61). Atlanta is 26-56 iirc.

While it is true that Kobe is a slight ball hog, this is only true due to the fact that the Lakers don't have so many other good players. Odom and Cato are there, but they can't take it all. So don't be so hard on Kobe.

And the Raptors just suck. S-U-C-K suck. They're my hometown team, so I follow them, and I know that they have one of the worst records, made some horrible decisions and have so pretty cuddy players *coughRafaelAruajocough*. I would be surprised if someone beat the 100 against Toronto.

Right, since we're now in the playoffs, could we either move to talking about how the HEAT got thrashed TWICE by the Bulls, how the Spurs should be doing better, or how an admin should lock this topic? No idea about you, but necromancy takes a load outa me...
