If you are on this forum you have played a video game. :o I know you have.

And everybody who plays games, attaches themselves to at least one game, whether it's 5 minutes, or 5 years. We all have our falls. Yes, those moments where you finally get on the last level, and you're ready to open the door, and bam. That thing hits and you die. :(

I have just found my biggest fall ever, on Need for Speed Most Wanted. I engaged in a pursuit with my Gallardo, taken from a Blacklist driver. It was fully modded and sweet. I got on the highway an was in a pursuit with the following statistics:

  1. 6,330,000 Bounty

  2. 650,000+ Cost to State

  3. 148 Busted police units

  4. 42 totaled police units

  5. 62 evaded spike strips

  6. 72 evaded road blocks

  7. 7 infractions

All of the sudden I come out of the tunnel, and as I predicted there was a roadblock. I did this one as I did all others, except that one Rhino unit flipped several times, and I just happened to land on it and get stuck. :evil: I could have had a record pursuit their, for me, and possibly anyone else who's played the game. No, I'm not saying I am #1, I'm saying I may have made the top 100 out of all the NFSMW gamers.

I was very upset, and decided to post this topic. So go ahead, moan and discuss your falls. Maybe we can all cry together. :P

This isn't really in depth, but it was very annoying.

Me and my mom were playing Zelda A Link to the past, and it was thundering; the WORST time to be playing an old NES game on a almost-dead TV with no thunder safety. We almost defeated Aghnim and; the power shut off. Gawd were we so mad. We had spent months on that game, just for to be erased by the forces of nature.

Another was when me and my brother-in-law were playing Peace Keepers on NES, and we almost defeated the final boss, when Teddybear, the house cat, had been full and decided to take a stroll around the living room. She smelled the couch... the rug the table then ash tray...

Then the Tv.

The horror as wel had him down to about 30% left, and then the moment when she layed her paw upon that button. The button with the ancient words of wisdom and warning encrypted within the glossy plastic: RESET

The game when blank. And it began at the title screen, with no remains of our past game. So saddening. :cry:

I was playing World of Warcraft & I had a Team 5-manning Scholomance. I was my warlock, & we had a priest, druid, warrior & a rogue. We had all agreed that if the last boss, Darkmaster Gandling dropped the Headmaster's Charge, the single best warlock weapon in the entire game with a 0.01% droprate then I would get it.
Nobody actually expected it to drop with those odds.

Anyway my street has a history of faulty substations & it just so happened that halfway through the fight my power went dead. I quickly loaded it up & signed back into WoW, only to find that Gandling was dead & the bloody priest had Ninja'd the Headmaster's Charge. I was mortified.

I hate priests. That's the last time I waste my soul stone on one.

Wow, you play(ed) WoW? Wow. What realm(s) are(were) you in?

Back on track.

I was playing Sword of Mana on my GBA, which is one of the most annoying games (IMO) in the world. But I'd made it loads farther than I'd ever done before, and I saved happily. Went to bed. The usual ra ra ra (?). Anyway woke up next day and decided to try out the other side of the story (there are two different storylines to follow). I turned it on and after a while I got to the point where it prompts you to save (really near the beginning). I was getting bored of it so I just saved as quick as possible and turned off the GBA.

That's when I had a thought. I switched the GBA back on and the main menu loaded. I scrolled down to the "Load" option. I hesitated for a second, not wanting to see what was coming, but hoping to allay my fears. I pressed the "A" button and wrenched my eyes shut. I opened one eye slowly. My bad eye (I have a bad eye, cool huh? :D ). I opened the other one, and brought the image before me into focus.. Two save files. My really good one wasn't there. I had saved over it.

"Noooooooo!"

*Dramatisation

Heh, Crosman just recently got Worldcraft too.

Anyway, probably my worst game experience is the time I was playing Kid Chameleon for Genesis. Anyone that played that game can agree with me how long and difficult that game is. I spent at least a few hours playing it, and I got really far. At the time, I didn't know which level I was at. In reality though, I was at the level before I had to face the final boss. And this level was HARD. I was being too careless and hasty though and died and lost all my lives. I was expecting to use another continue like I usually did, but I had none left....so I got a game over.

Haven't played the game since.

I was playing Majora's Mask a while ago, and I was on the moon. I was in the Link Dungeon, about to finish it and get the Fierce Deity's mask, THE ONLY MASK WORTH GETTING FTW, and then my cat came in and slammed into the N64.

Now, if this was a GameCube, I would have been okay. But I've had this N64 since the first week it came out. It's a very old black box. And, of course, the game shut down.

But it didn't just shut down, it glitchified itself. The only thing I could see was a Goron trying to warp with the Song of Soaring, and the music playing non-stop. I couldn't play it 'till the next day.

This gave me plenty of time to think about exactly how I was going to torture the above cat, who shall remain nameless. (SHADOW, A RUSSIAN BLUE! IF YOU SEE 'IM SHOOT 'IM!)

Okay, not very in-depth but very, very annoying.

I was playing Final Fantasy X over again and had just reached Besaid Island. As anyone who has completed the game/has the game knows, you need to save ALOT or some random angry, powerful monster will appear and wreck you. So, I like to save many times before continuing. I saved and entered the town. Cut-scene. Walked forward. Cut-scene. Entered the Temple. Cut-scene. This had taken about 10-15 minutes so far, a bit long for me without saving. Into the Cloister of Trials. Cut-scene. Then, the evilness of the Trials. Pick up the globe, replace it in the (wrong) place. Rinse and repeat until you go insane/you open the door.

Still hadn`t saved. Cut-scene (FMV with good graphics). Then another few. That`s about 40 minutes and I haven`t saved. I`m panicking, trying to hurry. But of course, you CAN`T skip it. Then, more cut-scenes with Yuna summoning which took ages with all the fancy light-shows and swooshing and glitter. And then it came.....

You could say it was a monster. It was called a Power Cut. My room went dark and my eyes widened in shock/horror/anger/disbelief.

I shouted really loud, knowing I would have to do it again, and then accused my dad of doing it - he was fiddling with the electric meter thing. But he had gotten a shock and also, it wasn`t him - the whole street was out. All the bulbs in the house had blew and everything was off including - gasp - my mum`s video recorder which was recording her soaps.

I then got shouted at for being so inconciderate...... :oops:

Okay, I was playing the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
I had a file with almost everything on it (18 Hearts and 3 Peices).
I beat it, and it asjked me if I wanted to make one of those files with a Trforce dohicky on it. I thought it would just make my file gold, so "Yes".

File go bye-bye. :cry:
Im still trying to make my second one just as good. Now to rob some random island of its treasure.

My gaming tragedies might not be as near as tragic as the ones above but I'l share...

1.I was playing FF IX on my Playstation and I was nearing the end of the 2nd disc (this game comes in 4 discs for the PSX) and hoping the 3rd disc would be awesome.I complete the 2nd disc and naturaly put in the 3rd one to play...then I see the disc is defective and it responds like it's a false disc (yes,I checked a million times but it still didn't work) >_< .After going like "ZOMG U sell me CrAPy merchandice" to the dude that sold me the game,he gets me another FF IX 3rd disc and guess what...that one didn't work either...Then I went to another store and bought the 4 discs again and this time the 3rd one worked and I lived happily ever after...k that was lame...

2.One night during the NATO bombarding (sp) on my country I was playing Rayman 2 on my PS.I just finished beating the huge magma boss that was hard for me to beat (can't remember his name) and all of a sudden me and my mom hear the "bombing alert sirens" or whatever you call them and a couple of explosions go off somewhere in town.Then the power (electricity) goes out...and I didn't save...I went into a fit of rage in all the darkkness...

3.There was this time I was playing Digimon World 2 (yes,hang me *choke*) and suddenly I had to leave somewhere fast and I go to save.When it was still saving I turn of my Playstation...memory card fried with all the data on it,ktnxbai...Taught me a very important lesson about how one should not turn off yo machine while it's saving.

Well,those were my negative experiences with gaming.

Strange as this sounds but the memory card incident also happened to me...

I was playing Mortal Kombat: Deception(If you read the games that you mastered topic & saw my rant about the game, you're probably thinking I tried again.)on my Gamecube during the summer.You'll find out why I said it was during the summer.I had a lot of Koins, Arcade:A little easy to beat, etc.I was about to save when the worst thing that could happen to me happened.My mom accidently had the dryer & AC on at the same time. The fuse box at my house is too small, so when that happens...CLICK!The power goes out.I was saving, the power went off.Afterwards, the power came back on, but as you can guess, my file was screwed up, so with a pained look on my face, I deleted it.OVER 1000 KOINS & A GOOD FILE GONE! :evil: I don't think to this very day I forgave my mom for that.

Worst experience?

Putting FF 10-2 in my PS2.

Aside from that, Star Ocean 3 gave me the most pains. Huge dungeon, and huge as in 3 hours playing non-stop (w/o guides, puh-lease), watch a 10 minute sequence (not even FMV), fight a boss, win a battle trophy for beating him in under a minute (oh the challenge... oh the 3 hours spent to get there... I don't feel all that worthy of a trophy...) and then have to go back the whole way (no, you don't get taken back to the entrance automatically or through sequences, like you should!), in order to try and save at the entrance and proceed with the storyline, but dying to a monster on your way back. 3 hours and so down the drain. Just what kind of game has random monsters stronger than the boss at the end of the dungeon?!?!

On Psychonauts I had FINALLY gotten to the top of Thorney Towers Home for the Disturbed, saved Mr. Pokeylope (don't ask; he's a turtle.) and beat the crud out of Dr. Loboto. I go upstairs to free Lili, and WHAM.

"POINT OF NO RETURN. SAVING GAME..."

Well, this wasn't so bad once I figured out how to get back. But, at the moment I was like "You have to be kidding me. I haven't even finished the physical worlds yet!!!"

Another was when I popped my Gold version (98% done, including Pokedex (yes, I've beaten the E-4 on there)) and what do I see?

NEW GAME
OPTIONS

I could've killed my game. I haven't played it since.

I've also had the battery die while I was playing it. Didn't screw it up much. This weird thing happened, though: I'd caught a Drowzee, and it was sent to my PC. I save, battery dies while doing that. I go into my Pokedex when I load the game, no Drowzee. I go into my box, Drowzee. Confusing ^_^

My final bad video game moment was on Sapphire. I'd just gotten to Meteor Falls (and haven't saved since Mauville) when I hear this god-awful noise: "GREEKRRGSHHH! GREEKGERRKSHHH!" and I couldn't move. So, I hit the Power button and just then I remember: I DIDN'T SAVE!!

A tie between dropping my Game Boy Color w/ Gold Version in the water at the beach (It had like 10 Pokemon left until to complete the dex :/ ), or losing 7, count 'em, 7 Game Boy games (Pokemon Red & Blue being 2 of them) to some loser theif.

Why would you take your GBC to the beach in the first place?

Well, the worst Video Game moments for me were when my favorite gameboy games were stolen/ruined. I've gone through MANY pokemon games. My first pokemon game ever, Yellow Version was ruined when I let my friend borrow it. (I have no idea what she did to it, but it never worked again...) My first Silver version was lost on the way to school somehow, second one was stolen, third one was traded for a PS2 memory card, fourth one I got for Christmas (this christmas) and it doesn't work :(. My Red and Gold versions were stolen with my pinkish GBA at school, and my Crystal Version fell in the snow sometime in the winter of 2001 or 2002, and wasn't found until Spring. (Yes, it was ruined.) My irresponsibility when I was a child has left me in regret for what has happened to my cherished games.

In game moments:

Final Fantasy IX: This was kind of like the problem mr.m.m.j. had, but different. I was playing the game I got for Christmas from a pawn shop (Yes, it is not the best place to buy your games from) and I was on the second disc, and I just got done fighting Beatrix. I was watching the video after it when Brahne was summoning Odin, and my game just...froze. Right there, I watched my favorite and only playstation game at the time just...FREEZE. I was really sad, and I sent an angry complaint to the pawn shop, but of course, they denied responsiblity. *sigh...* (My dad bought me a brand new game after Christmas though.)

Pokemon Blue: Ah...this taught me to ALWAYS save like every few minutes. I got my starter, beat Brock, and decided to take a trip through Mt. Moon. I got to the fossil guy, and...LOST. ;| I forgot to save the whole game, and I was forced to start all over again. -_-;

Pokemon Ruby: Okay, I still don't know what the deal is with my game, but the battery is 'dead.' I've tried to fix it with my LG, FR, Emerald, and Colosseum, but each time I link to one of those games, it gives me an error message saying the "The Berry Update" has failed. WTF!? Thats like, my favorite Hoenn game! T_T I was considering replacing it, but...I got that game in my Easter basket in 2003. No new Ruby Version could EVER replace the memories I had with my Ruby version. I don't care if the battery is dead in my Ruby Version, I will still treat it like my favorite GBA game (Because it actually is :o)

This tragic event took place many years ago...during the times where there was only regular Gameboy and Gameboy Pocket. :twisted:

So there I was, in our van on a road trip to Florida (Myrtle [sp?] Beach), and I was playing good ol' Red version of the blessed game Pokemon. I saved my game and took the cartridge out because I was getting bored of it. I put in Megaman, a game that I could never beat. :P

Everything was going great. That is, until a car swerved into our lane and my dad had to slam on the brakes. Now, at the time, I was facing the window, which was open of course. When my dad hit the brakes, my body jerked forward and my hands flung into the air. :(

My trusty Gameboy went flying out of the car and into the middle of the highway. But in good news, we didn't crash. But I was crying, because afterwards I saw my Gameboy get run over by a semi-truck (they always appear when you least need 'em). :cry:

Luckily, we also had a Gameboy Pocket (my sister's), so I only suffered the loss of my first Gameboy and my Megaman game pak. :cry:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have another tragic event, only this one is not as dire (or is it?). :P
So we were on yet another trip back to Chicago from Wisconsin (95% of my relatives live there) for Chirstmas. I hadn't opened my game box to play Gameboy Color because I was reading some comic books.
About an hour after the trip began, I was getting bored of Garfield comics
and decided to bring out my GBC. When I opened my game box, my jaw dropped in horror. I forgot to put the actual Gameboy Color in it! I searched every nook and cranny of the box with no luck. I even dug in my luggage to look for it. No luck. I had left it at home.
So I had to survive the rest of the 5-hour trip without video games. :(
I made it there and spent the nites at my Grandparent's house. On Christmas morning, however, I was tortured because I got Pokemon Yellow from my Grandma. :x That really stunk.
The worst moment in Video Game history: When they made Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix. Ugh, horrbile, worst game in history.
Another one for me: Pokemon Gold, I had just captured Ho-oh, Suicune and Raikou, and didn't save. My battery happen to die. I think you get it... :evil:
Also when I decided to let my little cousin play Zelda: Four Swords with me, she decided it would be fun to not cooperate with me and hit me with the fire wand as much as possible... Ugh...
R_R, I've never had THAT happen to me ^_^ Though this one time these two cars came flying by us and I about had a heart attack cuz we almost got hit (they were about 1 foot away from us).
*thinking* Ah, another memory of my "I love this game" to "I hate this game" back to "I love this game, where's my save?"
Basically what happens is I go from being obsessed with one game getting really, really far, losing interest, playing another game, saving over the first one, then going back to the first one only to find that I'd deleted the save file. Here's a list of games that's happened with (First game, middle game.)
Jade Cocoon, Bloody Roar 2
Spyro 1 (hadn't played it for a while, when I started it up I unwittingly erased my 98% complete game)
Jak 2 and The Sims/Sled Storm
Sled Storm and Bloody Roar 4
Pikmin and Pokemon Colosseum
Harvest Moon and Pokemon XD
^_^ See? I do have a short attention span.
I decided to play the Sims 2 on my friends comp. I had a successful family. I went to look, and.....I think you could guess. If not, they disappeared.
I managed to rebuild it today. Even better. Luna's husband is a CEO. And he was a computer Sim. 0-0
Yeah, well, I just had another moment where I was ready to break my new 20". >:(
I am stuck on challenge 44 on NFSMW, I'm given a crappy police cruiser an dI have to dodge 6 roadblocks on Heat Level 4. So I dodged, and did my stadium trick, however I am uncomfortable where I am. So I decide to head over to the opposite side of the stadium, and JUST as I entered the little Hiding Spot, the helicopter shows up and I get busted 2 minutes later. I was so angry. :evil: So now it's 2 days later, and I've still yet to complete the challenge.
Back in the day, I only had a Gameboy. I had to be the last kid in the world to get a newer Gameboy, since they had already come out with the GBA. And my GB was so old and junky, it didnt even have a back to it to hold in the batteries, so they frequently fell out. I'm pretty sure I bought it at a garage sale with my own money, since my parents never bought me any game systems. Anyway, I was trying to play Red Version, and my older brother was messing around with his friends, and he tried to grab my GB. The batteries fell out, as I knew they would, and the game shut off. I had been battling my rival for the last time, and that alone upset me. But when I turned it back on, I found that the entire game had been erased. I got grounded for punching my brother in the face.
