Ok, now that I've gotten that out of my system, it's time to sing the praises of Porygon2! It should be a staple member of every Mono-Normal team, IMO.

Pros:
+Best SpAtt on a Normal type (even the unevolved version is tied for 5th).
+Pretty interesting moveset options.
+Trace can be loads of fun!
+Well rounded stats.

Cons:
-Trace can sometimes be useless.
-Fairly slow.
-Nothing that realy stands out, other than the SpAtt.

Base Stats
HP- 85
Attack- 80
Defence- 90
Speed- 60
SpAttack- 105
SpDefence- 95

Such a lovely poke, if a little slow. It's moveset is best suited for SpSweeping, but there are possiblities for tanking and PhisSweeping.

Porygon2 @ Focus Band/Leftovers
Trait: Trace
EVs: 164 HP / 92 Def / 254 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Psychic/Thunder Wave
- Recover/Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
The set I use, a basic SpSweeper set. Yeah yeah, I know, shame on me for using a hax item. Thunder Wave is nice to slow down the opponent.

Porygon2 @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Trace
EVs: 168 HP / 228 Def / 16 SAtk / 96 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Recycle
- Rest
- Toxic/Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam/Thunderbolt
Recycle makes for ChestoResto shenanigans.

Porygon2 @ Leftovers
Trait: Trace
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Def / 56 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Sharpen
- Shadow Ball
- Return
- Hidden Power [Your favorite flavor]/Thunder Wave
HOLY COW, A PHISICAL PORYGON! Sharpen makes it possible, if you're feeling brave.

Yeah, I know, my sets aren't great. If you guys have some better ideas, feel free to post them.

So you know, here are some things you shouldn't do.
Conversion2: They'll just switch to a different attack type. Stick with the Normal type.
Lock-On/Zap Cannon: Do I realy have to explain this one?
Sunny Day/Solar Beam: Unless that is the theme of your team, and even then, there are better options.
Rain Dance/Thunder: See above.
Conversion: Not as bad a move as the second incarnation, but generaly not worth the turn and slot.

All in all, a cool poke, but not especialy outstanding ('cept for a mono-normal team).

General counters:
Anything that would beat on a normal type or a special sweeper.

Ah. Porygon2. How many times have I seen that thing come out of nowhere and own me because I was so surprised to see it. It's a great surprising special sweeper, most people don't know about its high Special Attack.

Note: I've seen the Sharpen Porygon2 as well, and it is quite effective.

I'd rather see a Choice Band > Leftovers and HP:Fight/Bug > Thunder Wave.

Thunderbolt > Sharpen for the occasional skarmory.

: This pokemon is too slow, imo, for a Sharpen Set-up. Also, Brave Nature > Adamant with less in Def and more into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def.

AWESOME if you can nab Levitate.

Also, Trace makes this a fun thing to throw into a Tbolting Jolteon, Surfing Vaporeon/Lapras, or Flamethrowering Houndoom.

In case you didn't notice, Sharpen was the whole point of that set. Ya' know, to make a phisical attacker out of a special one?

Yeah, Choice Band also makes a physical attacker out of a special one.

Thankfully for Porygon2, it has STAB Return and enough Sp.Atk to scare away Skarm with Thunderbolt. Sharpen, unless it got passed speed, would take too much set and they'd figure it out just to Roar.

Sharpen, Thunderbolt, Return, Shadow Ball would be the best thing for a Sharpen set. throw it a speed pass then start to sharpen. When they throw Skarm, Bolt it. Donphan still owns it though.

Personally I'd bolt over Hidden Power.
