Hi, This topic has possibly be posted elsewhere before but I thought i'd do a thing on it just so I can share my Two cents with everyone else.

I love double battles and normally trade all of my pokemon onto XD to get experience faster (from being traded and also fighting strong enemies when weak with a strong partner or using xp share) they level up really fast.

In the process I have also found some killer double battle combos that i thought i would share.

Combo 1

Groudon
Slash Rest
Earthquake Solarbeam

with

Moltress
Heat Wave Sky Attack
Endure Flamethrower

this combo is great because groudon knows earthquake and can often kill both enemies in one hit anyway but also effects your partner as well which is why i team him with moltress since he is immune to earthquake with his flying type. Groudon's drought ups the power of fire type moves making moltress stronger and when moltress uses heat wave (high power high accuracy for power unlike hydro pump) and HITS BOTH ENEMIES

normally you can KO two pokemon a turn at least with this combo

Combo 2

Raikou
Rain Dance Spark
Crunch Thunder

Kyogre
Hydro Pump Rest
Water Spout Double Edge

Kyogre's water spout hits both enemies and with his drizzle powering up water moves it does loads of damage (but only at full health)
Raikou has alot of power when he uses thunder, the only problem with thunder is its accuracy but with drizzle active thunder always hits. If something knocks drizzle out Raikou still knows rain dance to put it back and support kyogre again. Not much is faster than Raikou as well and the only thing i have had avoid his thunder using this is a ninjask using double team.

Combo 3

Rhydon
Mega Horn (something)
Earthquake Scary Face

Articuno
Fly Mind reader
Sheer Cold Ice Beam

This combo focuses on Articuno using mind reader and then sheer cold to KO in two moves. The aim is that he will kill any pokemon except those with the ability STURDY but most of these like golem are weak against ice anyway and can be KO'd by articuno's ice beam.
Rhydon makes the perfect partner for this combo for the following reasons.
1) can use earthquake without KO'ing artcuno
2) can take down types that are strong against articuno using above move)
3) has ability lightning rod which will take any electric attack aimed at articuno since he is weak against electricity, and rhydon is immune to electric attacks so nulls it.

I am experimenting with a few more combos that so i may very well add to this if i come up with something else that has high success rates or extreme power.

Anyone else have any Ideas for combos?

Hope this helps someone

Psion out :D

i typically use groudon with a pokemon with flash fire, like houndoom or ninetales. flamethrower on the other, it gets a 3x boost on fire attacks

Ooooh...... I love double battle strategies! I'd like to give some:

-----------------------------------------
The chain explosion technique:
-----------------------------------------
How do you like the concept of two of your pokemon exploding on the same turn, potentally KOing four of your opponent's pokemon? Here's the technique involved:

Pokemon one and two are out on the battlefield.
1) One needs to be at least 10% faster then the other pokemon, and generally fast, period.

2) Both know explosion, and are EV trained with speed-enhancing natures with the remaining points directed towards either attack or defense.

3) Both pokemon should have attacks that can rapidly dispatch any pokemon immune or resistant to explosion.

4) The second and third pokemon need to both be resistant to explosion and have excellent defenses. Examples include Steelix and Golem, both whom can also blow up. *BANG*

5) The remaining pokemon should be very versatile and be constructed to mop up any remains.

Hint: A super-fast Heracross with Swarm can also be used to wreak havoc. Have him use endure on the first turn, holding a Salac berry. When the other pokemon explodes, Heracross should be left with one HP, activating the Salac berry to increase his speed. He can then either protect himself for a second explosion or start ripping apart opponents with powerful reversals (300 attack value) or megahorns. (270 attack value)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mega brute force pokemon + Strategic many-sided pokemon
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome, Choice Band users! If you'd like to land OHKOs without "super effective" strikes (Outside of selfdestruct and explosion), this technique will be useful for you!

First, the choice band pokemon must meet certain standards:
1) The attack involved has no more then three low potency points.
("Not very effective", "it has no effect")

2) The pokemon involved must use an attack alligned with it's type. Single-types are most advisable because they receive a 1.75 bonus in contrast to dual-types' 1.5.

3) EVs and nature need to be perfectly aligned towards the attack used.
Advised EVs: Max attack or special attack with nature aligned towards one of those.
Max speed

4) The nature must not be determental to the stat the attack uses or speed.

5) The other pokemon fighting with the choice bander should be able to cover all it's weaknesses.

Note: The choice bander should aim for a base attack value of at least 250, equal or greater then an explosion.

I'll probably add more later.

{hariyama}

moves: EQ, focus punch, bellydrum, ???

{togetic}

moves: Follow me, Ariel Ace steel wing, ???

First togetic uses follow me an hariyama uses belly drum. Togetic uses follow me again and Hariyama uses either focus punch or Eq.

:Muk: (Holding Silk Scarf)

Explosion

:Heracross: (Holding Salac Berry, ability needs to be Swarm. Recomended to be FAST!)

Endure
Megahorn
Rest

Tactics:
First of all make the speedy Heracross use Endure. Then send off an Explosion with Muk. With such unusually high attack power, plus a Silk Scarf to boost any Normal-type moves, the move will be practically unstoppable. But the Heracross will survive and the Salac Berry will bring it's speed right up. If they pull out another Pokemon, simply heal up Heracross with rest and strike with a powered-up Megahorn, due to the Swarm ability.

Believe me, this combo is highly effective. I tried!

a ghost type also gets immunity from explosions.

is that really true? the 1.75 thing? ive never heard that anywhere else.

choice band only increases the attack power of a move, not the special attack.

why not hold the choice band. slik scarf increases explosions power by about 10% but choice band increases it by 50%.
