Well I believe the requirments for Ho-oh are greater than to catch and purify every single Shadow Pokemon. You have to defeat Mount Battle in Battle Mode and when you complete it you get Ho-oh. If you want I could give you a complete list of all the trainers and their pokemon who are on Mt. Battle. |

I also heard somewhere that you should refrain from using legendaries. Is that true? |

Flannery wrote: I also heard somewhere that you should refrain from using legendaries. Is that true? No, it isn't. You can use what you want in Mt. Battle. I used this team when I won the first time: Rayquaza, Flygon, Salamence, Metagross, Milotic, Raikou. That team is a bit to much weak to ice - on the other hand it has one of the things that can make Mt. Battle easier: a combo of levitate/flying and Earthquake + the Raindance/Thunder/Surf combo that covers pretty much what the first one doesn't. Anyway .... a good balanced team should do the battles fairly easy - at least untill the 90'ies. Then it gets hard (especially #99, but the final #100 isn't harder than the battles in the 80'ies in my opinion. Oh, and JBs-pikachu, why do you post the RPG mode teams from Mt. Battle??? We speak about getting Ho-oh in Colosseum/Battle mode in which the opponents are all lvl 100. |

I just found my brother's player guide and it says those are the Pokemon for Battle Mode.... Meh, I'll look at it again later. Maybe I'm wrong.... |

I thought that in Colosseum the Pokemon' levels are set, where as in Battle their the level of your highest Pokemon. So if you have a level 100 Blaziken and all your other Pokemon are level 60...you're screwed. |

Hmmm the rules are a bit hard to understand, but a look at http://www.serebii.net/colosseum/rules.shtml tells me that I probably should have said ".... in which the opponents are all lvl 100 or all at the level of you highest pok |

Rayquaza1990 wrote: I believe whatever your highest level pokemon is is what the LV of opponent That is true. If you're going to pick pokemon for Mount Battle in battle mode, it is best that you have pokemon around the same level, so if your highest leveled pokemon goes down... then your other pokemon won't get clobbered. My brother already completed the task of getting Ho-oh. I think his highest leveled pokemon was at level 70 and the others were in the high 60s. |

Wow - I'm coming in pretty darn late on this one. Regardless, you're wrong. It says in the book that using Legendaries will decrease the amount of coupons obtained per level. Though you can use them, you indeed should refrain where possible. |

Having gotten Ho-oh, I know that you have to do the following: snag and purify all pokemon beat Mt. Battle with your STORY MODE TEAM If you use a team uploaded from one of your GBA games, it won't give you Ho-oh. (though trading a good team from a GBA game to colosseum, then using that as your story mode team is fine) Also, while using legendaries will yield less pokecoupons, it's really trivial, considering that later on Mt. Battle, you'll fight things like lati@s, the regis, and Kyogre and Groudon, as well as very standard and annoying pokemon (such as Metagross). The opponents get truly dastardly in their strategy as well as strength. |
