What would be the best team for the battle tower? Im having trouble getting a good team set up. The longest I have gone is 15. (I know. That looks horrible)

General strategy is to use a phys sweeper, a spec sweeper, and a wall. That should get you pretty far.

Also, make sure you have a way of countering DTers.

I will try that. Thanks.

Anything else I should try as well or is a good defense the best offense in the Battle Tower

I usually find offense more important than defense in the battle tower. If you can kill the DTers off before they get in too many DTs, you are good. It is also useful to have a good priority move user (my favorite is Metagross with Bullet Punch, but there are loads of other good ones) to take out Focus Sash users.

You can take a Sweeper/Sweeper/Sweeper aproach, as some Heavy damaged dealers are rather bulky, or get a Sweeper/Wall/Sponge , You need EV training/natures for the most part, as theres no such thing as being too perpeared. Work your Type combos and strenghs. Bring as much as you can to avoid Hax, OHKO moves+Evaision.

Egh, tell me about it. Once you get up in the 40-50 wins in a row range... you can start to run across these a lot. And man is it annoying if you're not prepared...

It sure is, always bring at least one Always-hits move, and imunities to Ground/Normal are helpful. SheerCold is a pain, as the only thing against that is STURDY/FocusSash Help Kill Hax!

Hmm...if i'm not wrong, pure sweepers sets can get you very far. The more super effective attacks you can land, the better.

First,try to not share weaknesses...
(don't take a team of Water, Flying and Water/Flying or a {pichu} will own you... )

1-Take a Powerfull Sweeper(Mixed can work,but Physical/Special is better ...)
2-A Tank,Staller or Sponge (The more Hp you can have, better chance you will have...)
3a-A staller that can do some Special/Physical moves...
3b-A Special Sweeper that cover a team member weakness...

A good combo that i use is ...

1-Tanla
{salamence} @Choice Band
Nature:Jolly
Ev:Att & Speed Max
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Aerial Ace
-Dragon Claw

Good Starter,Hit most things with a Super Effective and has intimidate,
that make P.Sweepers lose some power...

Swich out on:
Rocks,Ice,Dragons...
Bulky waters and physical stallers...

2-Selenne
{blissey} @Leftovers
Nature:Bold
Ev:Hp & Def:Max
Serene Grace
-Seismic Toss
-Counter / Thunder Wave
-Softboiled
-Aromatherapy

Special Sponge with some defense...can take many things off...
If you use counter you can kill something after salamence intimidate...
(If you lucky enough you can even survive some Stabed Cross Chop!!!!)

3:I usally change between these 2 on the 3rd slot so both have the 2 ribbon on BT single..

3a-Salion
{togekiss} @Wise Glasses or Yache Berry
Nature:Modest
Ev:Hp200 Sp.Att:252 Speed:58
Serene Grace
-Air Slash
-Shadow Ball
-Aura Sphere
-Roost

Good Staller that can deal a hard special hit...just keep away from anything that can deal super effective hits...
(It share a weakness with tanla...well...Do what i say,i don't do what i do... )

3b-Ghasta
{gengar} @Focus Sash
Nature:Hasty
Ev:S.Att & Speed:Max
Levitate
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power [ice 47 or 49 can't remember...]
-Destiny Bond

Special sweeper faster than most that you will find on BT...
Can kill that fighting type that just screw your blissey...
Good sweeper overall and can take at least 1 enemy down...

I got to 144 using this team...I use them since Emerald so,i know it works...
I hope it helps...

Another one to use...is a Taunt+some of the other mentioned on this thread. Taunt helps with the hax of double team and such which many traniers within the BT use.

An nice example of a taunter is a BulkDos.

Well i guess, when they start to use ground types, {salamence} and physical walls you will suffer...
but you never know, maybe you can get far...

I find walls really unhelpful in the battle tower unless they are a healer such as Blissey, if I use a wall/sponge it always seems to get taken out and if it has SR it is no use since they never switch

I think 3 sweepers is the best approach

i think choice scarf on a slow sweeper would be the best approach. an example is my {gallade}, his speed isnt the grestest and his defence isn't the best so if he gets hit by a physical move he would probably die. With gallades high attack combined with a choice scarf + a physical attack he can go far.

my {garchomp} has a life orb since hes already quick and has high attack, just boosting his attack power.

not sure what item to give {electivire} atm so for now hes got wise glasses

Galade isnt THAT slow, T-Wave can fix the Speed issues

Now i notice Gallade has SD, you might not want to. Try looking up some movesets on the web, you might find a second opinion, I've never trained a Gallade for myself, so Im no expert.

If {medicham} was scarfed,e could never hit all your pokes with Super effective moves...
None of your pokes share a single weakness...

I don't think so...
I used a team off {lucario} , {hippowdon} and {garchomp}
and defeated the Tower Tycoon Twice...On 21 and on 49 battle...

I think he just means 'It was doing tons of damage'.

Yeah, 3 Sweepers works. But its not the only thing that works.

Yeah,maybe you're right...

The Jonatron wrote:

I was trying like crazy to get pass Bt since R/S/E...
My team was always 3 sweepers...And i was always Pwned by {snorlax} {blissey} {milotic} {gengar} {starmie} and other Tanks/Sponges/Fast Sweepers and others...I didn't had nothing to take some ice beams for my {salamence} then i couldn't get very far...That's when i was reading some guides and saw the idea of using {blissey} and other tanks... which i thought that i would never use(Don't know why,i just didn't like her...),
That changed my game forever...this was like 2 or 3 years ago...
I was kind of the average N00b that you might found easily around some forums ...
Now i just like to show some kids all my Shiny Gold Symbols... :D

From personal Experience, The Higher you go, The more The AI tries to counter you.(I got Combusken 3 times in a row Along With a monferno). So Try to have a counter for most of your weakness's. So You Should Have

A)A Bulky Sweeper OR A tank that Does Damage

B)An All Out Sweeper That Cover's the Above's Weakness's

C)A Tank That Can Do Damage.
C1)With Sturdy
C2)With All neutral Moves
C3)With An alway's Hit move

Your mileage may vary.

Im getting it now...so basically a pokemon that can attack quickly, one that can do some damage and one the has side affecting moves such as sleep, poison, paralyze, ect. I though it was mainly about power to be honest cause I have alot of power pokes and they seem to do really good up untill about battle 10. My best was Sharpedo cause it took out alot of the pokes quickly. Gardevoir did good but again about the 10th battle...
