You had it wrong...

it decreses level by one NOT make it level 1

yeah, it just makes the level go down by 1. its interesting, but i was shocked when i threw one at something in purity forest and it went down to level 31 or something. meanwhile i was about level 3 by that stage - lol!!

seriously though, i would love to have a doom seed in d/p or even the gameboy games. so many level 100s i would love to EV train!

Actually the doom seed quite intrigued me. I saw it decrease the level, but it didn't decrease the STATS. I think if you eat a doom seed, grow a level, eat a doom seed again, grow a level again, its possible you're stats could get up to 999. Then it doesn't matter what you're level is!

Hmmm. That could be one of its uses, but given its rarity, you're still better off using the stat enhancing items instead.

thats really interesting. ive never actually tried it on one of my own pokemon. i guess if you had an unlimited supply of joy seeds and doom seeds, you could just eat one after the other again and again and again......

sN0wBaLL's right. The doom seeds are extremely rare. The stat boosters are, too, but you can commonly find the drinks inside walls.

Yeah, that would rock. Too bad I don't have an ARDS. I would hack unlimited joy seeds, but then probably just drinks.

I wish Pokemon games had secret codes (discluding AR, GS, and Wondermail). Well, my doom seed(s), I threw at a random enemy.

I found mine somewhere in Purity Forest (which I cleared). Anyway, as others have said it decreases your level by 1 with 1 exp. point to level up.
