I am no longer working on the program. The source files link is below. Thanks for all your patience and support.
Source:
http://www.badongo.com/file/5153611
Here's a program that will calculate the number of trips through the E4 to train a Pokemon to Lv100.
Please post to tell me how you like the program!
Windows:
http://www.badongo.com/file/4226919
http://www.badongo.com/file/4226920
Need WinZip?
Directions: Results too varied for specific instructions. All I can tell you to do is try both links.
Version Notes:
-Extreme Growth curve
-Exp. Share support
-You can now type in the name of any Pokemon from Bulbasaur to Mew (must be in lowercase, however)

is it just Windows Vista, or is there an error...when I ran it, it says it got an illegal instruction and had to close.
BTW, what language did you use?

It looks to me like it needs a command line prompt to run properly...
Unfortunately until we know what that is (if, indeed, that is what it needs) then we can't run it
Either that or it needs something installed to be able to run... (like the language decoder) though if it is a .exe that shouldn't be the case

Sorry about all the problems, guys. It may be because it is command line, and I'm not sure if it's Vista-compatible (I'm still runnin XP).
Oh, and Sion9, I used C++.
I'll see what I can do about getting it to run without command line prompt, like maybe using Visual BASIC if I can find someone who has the software (and if I can remember how to program in VB).

I swear it's not a virus. I'm not skilled enough in programming to make a virus.

OK, how do you run the program yourself?
Did you actually try running the .exe
Could you maybe get a screenshot (use print screen)
I believe it is not a virus

In the original C++ version, I simply ran the .exe file from my hard drive.
However, this may be a moot point, because I now have a (hopefully) fully Windows-compatible version I made with Visual Basic. All that's left to do is get it online, which I'll probably do tomorrow (Friday, so homework not an issue).
Keep watching this topic for updates! A working program should be available soon!

Windows version has been posted!:D
I never figured out what the problem was with the DOS version, but that no longer matters!

It wont work for me. It dosent show up on the Files i have and it dosent Respond. It gives me a bunch of windows that ask to Open or save, even after i get the File. It makes me Search for the User who created it. Then, when its about to play, it says its not Responding. I have windows XP and i would find this Very Helpful.

*sigh*
I can't believe it still isn't working. I'm removing the link until I'm absolutely sure anyone will be able to get it to work.

WOW!
That's really cool!
Though the file is not a .zip
When I tried to download it, it came up as a .191 (WTF?) but I changed the extension to .exe and it ran perfectly...
Just a thought, aswell as having a 'growth curve' button, you could have a way of simply entering the pokémon, as to find the growth curve you have to look on Psypokes

That's weird. I guess the extension gets changed during upload or something.

I've thought about doing that, but it would take some time to put in almost 500 Pokemon with their individual growth curves. Maybe later if I can find the time.

Wow, that's really nice, behersk. I have a suggestion though.
For your next version, you should include the extreme growth curve. Extreme is for Seviper and Breloom (not sure who else...) and requires 1,640,000 EXP for level 100.
Why Seviper needs 1,040,000 more EXP than Zangoose to grow to level 100, I have no idea.

Thanks, Krisp, I wasn't aware that the Extreme curve even existed (I figured two above and two below normal made sense). I'll be sure to add that in the next version.

Without knowing what the message is, I can't tell you what to do. Try downloading again and write down the error message, then post it here or PM me. Also please include what operating system you are using, and anything else you deem important.

In the future, are you going to make a Mac compatible version?

I'd like to, but...
Since I don't have a Mac, I'm not sure what would be compatible and have no way to test it before upload. If you know anything about Mac development (what language to use, etc) please let me know.

Strange I am running Windows XP and cant get the file to open either. When I save it offers the file type to be .5 and nothing else. I have never even heard of that file type before. It says Windows can not open the program without knowing what made it and offers to search via online or allows me to find an app to run it. If I could save it as .exe but again it doesn't offer that option. Let me go fiddle with it some more, maybe I can fix it. If I do I will post an update kind of like a manual for other users.

I appreciate your offer to post a manual. If you do, I'll add it to the first post. I'm gonna try downloading it on a couple of the computers at my house and see what happens.

I've added an alternate link. The first was uploaded as a .exe file, the second as a .zip file. Hopefully if anyone has a problem with the first, they can just use the second.

I think that it is a great start, but is still lacking. The way it calculates is if you use that poke to win every single match at any level. As Krisp says it is missing one Growth Curve. Just a few things need to be add like Exp Share and stuff maybe some other things but good job. It looks nice to, easy on the eyes.
