I downloaded Battle Room data using Wifi from the Battle Tower. I challenged the Wifi room. My Starmie is sent out against a Garchomp. My TIMID Starmie with 358 Speed was OUTRUN by a Garchomp. The Garchomp did not have a Quick Claw, and it wasn't holding a Choice Scarf since it used different moves. What other explanation is there for this?

Action Replay would be the only logical explanation.

I don't really use a team. I just mix and match the Pokemon I have trained.

a perfectly reasonable assumption would be that the garchomp was holding a choice scarf (raises speed by 50% but permits only one move - kinda like the choice band). my blaziken has 259 speed, and can outrun anything with a choice scarf.

by the way, my starmie has 361 speed :P

This is the only possible explanation I can see as well. Its impossible to tell if it has a Choice Scarf seeing as it doesn't tell you like Quick Claw more than it just does it. Did it use the same move multiple times or immediately switch out?

Which could explain why he's on probation.

The battle tower is hax, plain and simple. It's like Pokemon Stadium, only not as bad.

I have to agree that hacking seems the only way currently. Give me a sec, and I'll quickly look up any items that could possibly do that.

EDIT: Well, I didn't find any items that could raise Speed on a Garchomp save the ones you mentioned. Which moves did the Garchomp use?

It used Dragon Claw, then Outrage. So like I already said, it COULD NOT have been a Choice Scarf.

The exact same thing happened in the battle after. Latios, which has Max 350 Speed, outran my Starmie. It used Psychic on my Gengar, then T-Bolt on my Starmie.

How do these Wifi battle rooms even work?

*cough*PM*cough*

But seriously, it is really easy to hack at the moment...

If you have a real cartridge Action Replay can do it...
If you have a flash card Pokésav can do almost anything!

Don't trust anyone :p

yeah it was. im not quite sure how it works but you talk to the lady and she lets you connect to wifi and it like downloads a battle room and she leads you there and you face random trainers like before in the regular battle tower. its not all that great.

Yes I understand that part, but how does it work? Are the Pokemon chosen completely at random? I thought it just used other people's Wifi Pokemon, that could explain the H4X.

are you absolutely sure it wasn't Quick Claw? (Do you know what item it had, or did you know some other way?)

About the Marshtomp, it wasn't holding Focus Sash, was it?

I'm sure it wasn't a Quick Claw or Choice Scarf.

And just for the record, you CAN tell when a Quick Claw is used.

If it works, it does the berry/leftovers/etc animation, then they do their attack. It doesn't actually say anything though.

So if you didn't see that, and he changed moves, then it would have to be hacked.

it might be hacked. i have a timid latios with 31 IV in speed, and i was up against a garchomp which beat me and KO'ed me with outrage. im guessing it was probably a choice scarf.

in another battle i was up against a latios. so i sent out blissey and paralyzed it. but it still kept going first most of the time. so either it was hacked (which wouldnt explain why it sometimes went second, and also why its special attack seemed normal) or it had a quick claw, and why would you give a quick claw to a latios? i dont have animation on, so its possible it could be quick claw and i didnt notice.

and you know the first post originally didnt say anything about choice scarves / different moves. you edited it after everyone started talking about choice scarves. thats pretty poor form.......

probably was Quick Claw, then...as to why someone would give Latios a Quick Claw, well, there are probably noobs trying to beat wifi BT.

However, considering that the GTS can prevent you from trading hacked pokemon (you can offer, but not trade them - I've tried), why would Nintendo allow people to use hacks in BT?
