Post subject:  Serious hacking in PBR. :(

So I've been playing PBR nonstop since release. At this point it's nearly unplayable. I've had dozens of encounters with kids who have hacked pokemon. This is incredibly frustrating. I'm considering exclusively playing with friends/people from these forums, which is a bummer because the random duel feature is the whole reason why I bought the game.

A few days ago I fought some girl who had a shiny Mew that knew transform. Earlier tonight I went against a guy with a Porygon 2 that had the Speed Boost ability (only obtainable by the Ninjask and Yanmega families). There's also the countless times I've faced full shiny teams and common pokemon in masterballs. Ugh.

From what I understand most hacked pokemon will appear as 'bad eggs' when they transfer them over from DS. How are these kids hacking and keeping it under the radar? Is there any way to report these people to Nintendo? Anyone else out there just as frustrated as I am?

that reminds me of april fools day on netbattle. somehow the admin people had hacked pokemon, including sableye with wonder guard (hard to beat!), tyranitar with levitate (useful), and shedinja with sandstream (interesting).

seriously though, its pretty rotten, and boring, to play against people who arent really taking it seriously. mew does learn transform actually, and are you sure the porgygon2 didnt trace speed boost? once a porygon2 traced wonderguard from my shedinja on netbattle. i didnt have a fighting move, so i was stuffed!!

Yeah i understand what your saying... but your complaining about mew with transform? mew comes with that when you get him at level 30. So im sure they hacked the shiney mew, but that attack is legit.

Maybe the "bad eggs" only appear on cheats like max stats.
If they cheat to get master balls then the pokemon are still legit.
Mew learns transform.
All shiny teams are just gay, and usually only the noobs have them.
Porygon 2 likely traced speed boost. That simple.

People cheat alot lately. I don't even PKMN Battle my friends anymore because they cheat for LVL 100 Pokemon.

What nintendo should do, well actually all video game companies should do is make it too risky to cheat. If they catch someone cheating they should send a virus or something to delete their game data (I want to say delete the game altogether but that would be too harsh). But that does bring a problem for those who aquired hacked pokemon unknowingly through trades. My second solution is to have wi-fi users give an e-mail address in order to battle online. So if they suspect you of cheating, they can send you a warning or something.

This is abit of topic but I'm alittle surprised that the companies that make the cheating devices haven't gotten sued (that I know of). I mean they are altering copyrighted material.

Nintendo already tried that with Galoob and the Game Genie.

It failed horribly. Game Genie merely provides a tool: It's the end user using it for cheating that is the problem.

AFAIK, it's along the same lines as suing a pen and paper company for people using their paper to edit copyrighted works.
