before finishing the game how many times u guys blanked out?
[blanked out=out of usable Pokemon and rushing to a pokecenter]
i have a sucky record, i prolly blanked out more than 30 times.
main reason i don't had much Pokemon in my box and limited money with me.
i am a bad trainer imo.
this question also applicable for RSE.

Do you mean before battling the Elite 4?
I blanked out alot. Maybe between 30 to 45 times.

Nope, but replace the "potion" bit with "I switch off the game and restart from my last save point". Even then, I've still only done it a few times, thanks to Gym Leaders.

Not a lot, frankly. On LG, never. On E, twice, at the Rival Battle just after Slateport, and another at T&L. Reason being I went with UberStarter (only train your starter and don't catch anything besides HM slaves), playing Blaziken.
Wouldn't this be better off in General Pokes Discussion, since it applies to all generations?

If the first battle with Gary (or whatever you named em) counts then once. It isn't hard not to as long as you have a strong team. Carrying items wasn't a HUGE help until the E4.

I have potions, but I am one that likes to take risks, so if I think I can finish them before they finish me, i'll go for it, but knowing my luck I always miss and they OHKO me

I blanked out when I started to Gary since I didn't train enough and to Brock a lot since I chose charmander.

Well, probably u can get a pokemon that is able to take down Gary's Pokemon if u are using Charmander.. I did that with a Paras I caught in Mt Moon.. It sapped that Squirtle with its Absorb..

Unless it was a stupid test or something, then... No. I always train my Pokemon approximatly up to 10 levels before I move on to another area. (Not to mention if I do, I reset.)

I think I've blanked out three times. Once against Gary on the S.S Anne (I lost to him on purpose because I thought if I came back to the S.S Anne with surf I would be able to sail to a secret area ), once against Koga (I don't know why I found him so hard. It must of been because at the time I didn't have any psychic or ground moves) and once against the Elite Four (only once ).

Less than ten times. I always have potions and my pokemon are always stronger than my opponents by 1-20 levels.

I always save before tarting any challenging battles, and most of my Pokemon have excellent EVs/ DVs. In fact, apart from the demon trainers at the Battle Frontier, I don't think I have ever blanked out.

I've fainted MANY times, even if I have potions. I don't usually buy items from marts, I find a lot of things, and I have a Zigzagoon in my party, and it might pick up a potion, or rare candy, (it found me a TM44 once), so If I faint, I just think "better luck next time".
