Is he really a top tier pokemon (to a cheap extent?) ? I read on smogon that he's too good and should be banned (lol).

Yeah . . . . shadow tag won't allow your opponent to switch, but I still don't get it. I'm looking at his stats and they don't look good at all (except his HP). I only see it dying in 1 one from a top tier pokemon.

well it is good by destiny bond and shadow tag.probably cause of that.
but it only has 1attack that can damage without sacrificing..counter..nothin else so it sucks in other ways.
it cant learn any tm or hm also

Wobbuffet... trap someone with Shadow Tag and get them with Encore if they used an attacking move. Now you can Mirror Coat or Counter for huge damage.

I guess Wobbuffet was better in GSC when you could have max HP, max Def and max SD. I don't use it in RSE otherwise. There <i>is</i> a point to its existence.

They said Wobbuffet is an Uber pokemon with that moveset I mentioned above.

Dont sweat wobbufett is good use the shadow tag ability to catch Latias or Latios.

He isn't that good that he should be BANNED, unlike Blissey. However, he can really spoil your day if given a good moveset(much like the OU Starmie)

Yeah, I agree that there are quite a few strategies to using a Wobbuffet effectively, but I don't think it's good to such an extent that it should be banned.

At the end of the day though, it's still good for catching Pokemon like Latios and Latias

Wobbuffet maybe weak but it has shadow tag to catch legendary birds or legendary dogs.

Say, speaking of shadow tag... I've been wondering, what happens when you send out a wobbuffet against a wobbuffet? Are you both just stuck until you run out of PP and have to struggle?

Actually Wobbuffet isn't weak I have to admit that it isn't too good against experienced players but it's the best pokemon against newbies and he rocks in stadium 2

Not necessary. Pokemon that rely on indirect damage to win are good. My toxi-trapping Umbreon and my Ludicolo (drainer moveset), for instance. Wobbuffet would thus be unable to do anything in return while moves like Toxic and Leech Seed slowly KOs it.

Yeah, I know that's the standard. I just think wobbuffet vs. wobbuffet is a lot funnier. ^_^ But maybe that mindset is why I don't win... -_-;
I've also heard people suggest that you use taunt so he can't use any moves and has to struggle. But I don't think that's a good idea, because then he can actually damage you a little. Why ask for trouble when you can just sit there and soak up health with leech seed?
