Question about EV's

If I am facing an in-game trainer and defeat his first pokemon (let's say Seedot), but then the whole of my party faints, will the pokemon that defeated Seedot get the EV's or not?

The EVs are earned the very moment the Pokemon get experience for the knockout. They aren't given at the end of the battle.
