Post subject:  Fifth Pokemon?

So, I started my game over again, and I need another suggestion.
I currently have five badges, and have the following Pokemon, at the following levels, with the following purposes:

{tentacool} Lv. 27 (Special Sponge/Multi Status)

{torkoal} Lv. 28 (Physical Sponge/Curser)

{ninjask} Lv. 29 (Baton Passer)

{trapinch} Lv. 29 (Physical Sweeper)

{grovyle} Lv. 33 (Special Sweeper/Drainer)

What shall the fifth one be?

I am playing Emerald Version, with no trading capabilities, and no event Pokemon.

Electrike/Manectric. Your team needs some more variety. Make it a special sweeper.

Uh... Don't you mean Sixth pokemon?

Anyway, I'm thinking of something that can utilize status well. Think about Dusclops or something.

Alternatively, you could always go pseudolegendary and use Salamence/Metagross.

You've got a good team already. How about an HM Slave? Linoone makes a good one. Otherwise, let me suggest an annoyer: Vulpix! Contractburn (Confuse, Attracted, and Burned) is pretty handy. Also, if you notice, you're kinda dead by Flying types. May I suggest Spheal or Glalie? Or perhaps Pikachu or Manetric. Then there's Skarmory or Nosepass... There's too many choices!

Actually, Manectric might not seem like such as bad idea. Looking closer at your team, a Water type with Ice Beam can be super effective against four of them, while being somewhat resistant to Tentacool. An Electric type could help you deal with such a threat.

Linoone is awesome.
I used to keep one just to get the pick up items.

if you still have 5 badges, go for manectric, but if you can, i suggest you incorporate a raichu into your team. catch a pikachu from the safari zone and evolve it using a water stone.

Let's see what we've got....

Manectric
Ehhh... No. To bring it towards being a good Special Sweeper, I would need to do way more breeding and training than I consider it to be worth.
FAIL

Dusclops
This sounds pretty plausible.
WIN

Salamence
No. Salamence is too hard to get, too hard to train, and
as sN0wBaLL pointed out I already have enough weakness to Ice types.

FAIL

Ninetales
I already have a Fire type.
FAIL

Skarmory
Once again, like Salamence, a little bit of a pain to get. Also, I would have to raise it up another 12 levels or so to catch it up with the rest of my team. Possible though.
???

Walrien/Glalie
Walrien: Same as Ninetales.
Glalie: Need I say more?

FAIL

Raichu
Like Salamence, it's a bit of a pain to get. Possible though.
???

Linoone
Yes, it has Pickup. Yes, it learns some interesting moves. But, to be honest, it really does best with Belly Drum or Critical Hitter, both of which are a little high risk and overly specialized.
FAIL

So we've narrowed it down to Dusclops, and possibly Skarmory or Raichu.

Any OTHER suggestions?

You should get a good type that isn't as affected by Ice type (cause you're in a pit of mud, my friend) and that needs a good electric type attack (In which, you are lacking). I would probably tell you to get a fairly good tank like Swalot and give it Shock Wave from Wattson. Because Tentacool's poison sting doesn't really poison that often and won't hold up too long with a lower hp stat.

{swalot}
Poison Gas
Body Slam
Shock Wave
Yawn

You're good to go!
