Ok so my friend challenged me to make a very specific team for my Ruby version. It needs to include my starter Pokemon and then one pokemon from each of the elites (including Champion Steven) So just to give myself a tougher time (and because i need it for my pokedex for my Diamond) i chose Treeko to start with. So with those restrictions what do you think the best team would be? I can't do any trading so the pokemon HAVE to be accessible from RUBY only and BEFORE the Elites.... At the moment I have Grovyle, Mightyena, and Aron (all level thirty) (and i'm using two zigzagoons for their pick up ability and as HM slaves) |

You are building a team with one representative from each E4+Champion+Starter? Here is my suggestion... Starter: Sceptile Sidney: Mightyena Phoebe: Dusclops Glacia: Glalie Drake: Salamence Steven: Aggron Sceptile, Mightyena and Aggron you've already choosen...Salamence is I think best from Drake. And I would pick Glalie from Glacia, but Don't trust me on this one, I haven't used either Glalie or Walrein myself. When it comes to Phoebe though, I don't see you have much choice...Sableye is unavailble in Ruby, and shuppet(Banette) is semi-rare(10% chance at Mt.Pyre) So Dusclops it is. This is just a suggestion, but I hope it'll help you anyways, ~Kamikaze |

Man, Glalie? GLALIE?! Glalie defined mediocrity in R/S/E. Who uses that!?! (Besides Glacia) I would go with this:
But you can do whatever you want, that's the perk of author-hood ^^ |

Sceptile Shiftry Sableye Glalie Flygon Metagross This is actually close to whom I go around with in my party. No one else has yet said Sableye. IT HAS NO WEAKNESS!!! . I'll tell ya who uses Glalie: Me. EDIT: Whoops. Sableye isn't Ruby. Dusclops instead. |

I love how some people completely ignore the fact that the author of the post stated that he would choose Treeko. Anyway, I would go with: for huge Atk stat because stinks for a very respectable SA and Atk or for very good Def and Atk because you don't really have a choice |

id agree with the guy who posted before me but despite good stats salamence has a movepool that sucks unless hes above level 50 so you have to give him good tms. other than that the team is all good. |

For Sidney, i reccomend Absol with Swords Dance for its high ATK stat can demolish almost anything. |

Ok , Dark Gengar, as well as many others, you must realize that 4!! of your Pokemon can be Obliterated by a Salamence-Adamant-Scope Lens Attack-406, Sp. Attack- 300, Speed 280 Fire Blast- KO against Sceptile and Metagross Aerial Ace- Hit Sceptile first, get lucky if you get Critical hit another KO Earthquake- Dusclops Fainted after one hit Brick Break- Absol is WEAK guys, its stats are seriously low You guys are only thinking about offense not defense. You gotta think both ways. |

I love the fact that you can get Beldum only AFTER the elite 4 and the fact that different starters have been said even though it was mentioned that Treecko IS the chosen starter. Sceptile is a must because of starter's choice. Mightyena because you already have one and Cacturne/Shiftry are part grass. Dusclops because you can't get Sableye and Dusclops is whom i would choose in your current situation. Walrein, need a pokemon with surf really, make sure it has a good ice attack too though. Flygon, Bagon is rather difficult to get to sometimes and i've never liked Altaria much. For Steven's pokemon.. if you chose Anorith as your fossil i'd go with Armaldo , if not, go with Skarmory |

Post subject: | Re: Choosing a Dark Type |
I suggest: - Starter (water + ground, it'll get you through the gyms quick) - Really tough (not hard to get) - Really good ice type or - Because its grass type but its a 1% chance to get a seedot or nuzleaf but absol is second choice - Really good attacks, get one with Rock Head ability with Double Edge - As it is the only good ghost type |

That's a cool challenge Sceptile-starter Absol-Sidney Banette-Phoebe Walrein-Glacia (Glalie isn't a bad idea though) Quote: Man, Glalie? GLALIE?! Glalie defined mediocrity in R/S/E. Who uses that!?! (Besides Glacia)
If you go with Glalie- Kingdra, if you go Walrein-Salamence(Drake's pokemon) Steven really any of his pokemon are fine. I would prefer Metagross (since it's my alltime favorite pokemon(if you haven't noticed )) but unless in a trade you can't get beldum. so go with aggron, cradily,or armaldo. |

I'd agree - that's a cool challenge (: If it was me, I'd go with.. Starter ~ Blaziken. Sidney ~ Absol. Phoebe ~ Dusclops. Glacia ~ Walrein. Drake ~ Salamence. Steven ~ Aggron/Metagross. |
