You do some bike riding and running through lots of tall grass and go right in the entrance. When in smash some rocks and shove some and you see your rival. Follow this and you should end up in the zoomed out, main segment of Stark Mountain.

since this was connected to the topic i wanted to add another question, what do you need to get through the mountain. just smash rock and a bike or is there something else?

I think you only need a bike, Rock Climb Rock Smash and Strength. :)
