Just when I thought all hope was lost for the Metallics pokemon, a friend of mine claimed he traded between his Silver and Emerald. Is this possible? I am currently trying to get far enough in the game to trade but I want to know if it is? I have the two GameBoy Advances, the GBA Link Cable, Pokemon Silver, and Pokemon Sapphire?

Nope- your friend was either confused or lying. There's no way to trade between second and third gen games.

RBYGSC and RSEFRLGPD are separate generations. The two generations are not at all compatible with each other, unfortunately. So what your friend claims is sadly untrue.
