Your prefered battling option, shift or set? Yes this is trainer battles. I recently went to shift after I played my sisters game on shift.

1. You get to see what Pokemon they have next
2. AND you can switch to counterattack

Set is ok, but shift could certainly be helpful in any gym battle or elite four member.

I am proud to say I am a shifter, not a setter. :P

What about you?

Shift makes you pwn the other player, it's kinda uber, though I am kinda used to Set since I play a lot of Battle Tower.

Shift, since you can swap out if you're at a disadvantage without wasting a turn.

In RSE the default is Shift but in GSC the default is Set. Maybe they want to punish those who don't check all the options.

I SAY SET IT MORE CHALLENGING
WHERES THE FUN IN BATTLEING A STRONG OPPONENT WHEN YOUR JUST GOING TO SWITCH FOR A POKEMON WHO HAS A TYPE ADVANTEGE

You can't have strong opponents from random NPCs and gym leaders though, and battling another trainer or the battle frontier is "set" anyway.

I prefer set cause it's a bit more challenging because you won't know what Pokemon your opponent will send out next.

Once I figured it out, I always went with Shift, even though I really don't need to now...

Why not use shift? xD

i always have it on set, because it wont let you shift like that in a real battle against a person. so i get extra practice.
