No, for me Tate and Liza doesn't very hard at all, since their Claydol, Lunatone, and Solrock can be defeated easily by surfing. But Norman is REALLY hard for me - I waste all of my money to but 18 super potions to help me defeat Norman.

So far i PWNED Roxanne, Brawly, Wattson, and Flannery too easily....

I usually have my starter pokemon as backup and use the other ones to proceed....

with Roxanne I only used my Grovyle, Shroomish, and Lombre

With Brawley I used WIngull, Taillow, Beautifly, and Dustox

For Wattson I use Aron's mudslap and all my Graveler

For Flannery I use my Pelipper, Graveler, Azumarill

Pelipper with protect can skip a few overheat ^_^

and graveler's magnitude isthe bomb

that is where I am at now after a bazillion restarts

Definitely Winona, I really hate her Skarmory. Mainly because it's really strong and I had nothing that wasn't not very effective against it. Eventually I gave up and trained my Wynaut into a Wobbuffet, which, even though it was only level sixteen, beat the Skarmory in one hit with counter. Since then Qiggly my Wobbuffet has taken down the Champ's Skarmory as well.

I can't remember fighting the gym after Tate and Liza. But I found Norman the hardest, followed by Wattson. Both was mostly because my Pokemon were just not levelled up enough. They were at a level just under the leaders' Pokemon, so I figured with type advantage they'd be fine, but apparently not.

I actually found Tate and Liza, and Flannery very easy. I just used Pokemon with a type advantage. Sharpedo works very well against Tate and Liza, especially if it knows Surf.

One both my Emerald profiles, Winona's Altaria has owned my team, so I consider her the hardest of the Hoenn gym leaders. She causes me problems every time. :D Of course, Tate and Liza are also difficult in my opinion because of all the hyper potions they use. Of course, on both tries, I was under level, which is always a mistake.

I really used to dislike the Lavaridge gym layout, but with Psypokes gym layout guide, navigating the gym is simple. Her Torkoal is a pain to defeat without a water type. (Even with my Marshtomp, it's overheat nearly ko'ed my only water type.)

I have had two experiences with gym leaders. In emerald, I was trying to raise my mudkip until it learns hydro pump, I encountered wattson and that was hard. When mudkip evolves, it will learn that ground type move (forgot its name) and without that it makes it hard to K.O. his pokemon.

And in my ruby i chose torchic and I had a hard time beating roxxane. lol

I would have to say Tate and Liza. All their pokemon know earthquake. What I really don't like about it is that, on Emerald, all their pokemon aren't affected by it, but all mine are. Mine faint in a heartbeat.

Plus it doesn't make it better that my favorite starter is torchic.

Brawly. His makuhita had uber defence at the time, so I was forced to train my ralts till it was around lvl 18-19. Little did I know that it would evolve at lvl 20. -.-

Wattson, because if you pick Treecko like me, he is hell unless you have Mega Drain or Leaf Blade. Magneton is a beast. Wallace is only hard in Emerald, and the runner-up was Winona for second-hardest (Altaria, for the most part). Brawly is easy with Sableye.

I've always had trouble with Wallace's Milotic, or Winnona's Altaria, because Milotic always recovers before I can deliver the finishing blow, plus it knows Ice Beam, and I always have to skip ahead of Winnona to get a Snorunt or Sealeo to take out her Altaria, because it keeps beating my electric pokemon with Earth Quake, and I don't have anything to stand up to an Earth Quake attack

Most electric pkmn are fast so shouldn't you be able to attack first and KO Altaria? Unless you picked Magneton.
PS: Earthquake is one word.

well for me the hardest is liza and tate with their annoying claydol and xatu

Liza and tate. I only train one pokemon on every game (except pearl) and they beat the crap outta me.
