If you want to make a competitive team you should probably re-breed and EV train. |

I'm going to try to make a decent, balanced team with one kind of pokemon, Ludicolo. Why? Because one of the hardest trainers on a pokemon game, Miror B. from Pokemon Colosseum, pulled it off pretty darn well imo. Before I get all excited and get started, I want to make sure this will be worth it. Suggestions are also greatly apreciated. By the way, this is going to be a double battling team (too bad the Miror B Ludicolo music isn't on the Gameboy games .) 1. LUDICOLO w/ Leftovers (Ability: Rain Dish) Timid (+Spd -Atk) -Rain Dance -Protect -Toxic -Double Team This is just to get it started. A pokemon to get the rain started, toxify the opponent, and alternate between DT and Protect. 2. LUDICOLO w/ Leftovers (Ability: Rain Dish) Jolly (+Spd -S.Atk) -Rain Dance -Protect -Leech Seed -Double Team Same objective as the first one, except replacing Toxic with Leech Seed. 3. LUDICOLO w/ Leftovers (Ability: Swift Swim) Adament (+Atk -SAtk) -Thunder Punch -Ice Punch -Fire Punch -Mega Punch The team puncher. Good for Special Def tanks and for flying types. Fire Punch is for steel and other grass, and Mega Punch just goes along with the theme. 4. LUDICOLO w/ Leftovers (Ability: Swift Swim) Modest (+SAtk -Atk) -Surf -Giga Drain -Ice Beam -Rain Dance The Special Attacker for Def tanks. This provides protection from Fire, Rock, Ground, Water, Dragon, Flying, and Grass. Rain Dance also keeps rain in action incase it goes away. 5. LUDICOLO w/ Leftovers (Ability: Rain Dish) Calm (+SDef -Atk) -Giga Drain -Toxic -Leech Seed -Protect Similar to the first two, except this one is even more of a HP drainer. This will be very hard to take down. 6. LUDICOLO w/ Leftovers (Ability: Rain Dish) Jolly (+Spd -SAtk) -Dive -Rain Dance -Toxic -Double Team Rain Dance is to keep rain in the battle and to make Dive even stronger, Toxic is to go along with Dive, since Dive takes up two turns, which means more toxic damage. And Double Team will make this beast hard to hit, and buy more toxic time. |

Post subject: | Re: The NEW 3rd Generation Rating Center |
This team is mainly for Battle Frontier with the occasional Link Battle thrown in there. I do not want to mess with IV's and Hidden Power. I have access to FireRed, this team is currently on Emerald, and have not used any TM's from FireRed yet. Any and all suggestions would be usefull because this is the first team that I actually tried to think out. @Focus Sash Modest 252 SPD 252 SA 6 HP Hypnosis/Mean Look Psychic Thunderbolt Destiny Bond/Perish Song I know some may say that I should have Dream Eater but if I do I have no attack for grounds if they wake up or are under safeguard. When I get hit and focus Sash kicks in I Destiny Bond and take the other guy with me. Hopefully, I kill the first dude in 2 or three hits and destiny bond the second guy which has full or almost full HP. Debating on the Mean Look, Perish song combo. It can be used more then once if I am lucky but Hypnosis actually lets Gengar fight toe to toe rather then mean look and run. I did not choose Shadow Ball or Sludge Bomb because, even though they are STABed they run off of Atk stat, which is much lower on Gengar. Thunderbolt and Psychic hit most Pokemon well so not much there. I want to replace Gengar with something a bit more useful but I am not sure what, maybe Blissey for aromatherapy. @Brightpowder Impish 252 HP 127 SD 128 Def Sandstorm Toxic Double Team Rest Shuckle's plan it to win by attrition. Double Teams up, throws down a sandstorm and toxic, and then uses rest when needed. Yes, steels are completely immune to Shuckle's attacks but I can still make them waste PP for their moves. Only bad thing is if Shuckle dies when Sandstorm is in effect, my next pokemon might be hit by it but I don't think it is to big a deal. @?/Leftovers Impish 252 HP 127 SD 128 DEF Spikes Explosion Reflect/Toxic Light Screen/Dig I plan to lead with Fortress. My first idea was for Fortress to come in, set up Spikes, Reflect and Light Screen, then gtfo with Explosion so a sweeper can come in with much more lasting power and do some real damage. Then I thought of pretty much another Shuckle, except Fortress digs to buy time for toxic to really take effect. I thought that two pokemon with the same role would throw off my opponent. THEN I realized again that if i used the 2 screens and switched into Shuckle, it will take virtually no damage while I Double Teams up. Sorry for rambling but I just cannot decide. @ Shell Bell Modest 252 Spd 252 SA 6 HP Thunderbolt Surf Ice Beam Camouflage/Rapid Spin Pretty straight forward. Camouflage to get rid of most weaknesses ( and resistances but I think it is a fair trade). There isn't much that resists this moveset and few pokemon can outrun Starmie so I am pretty safe there. I'll admit I overuse this pokemon but I just love its versatility. Might use rapid spin instead of camouflage if I get Fortress' reflect and Light Screen so I can get rid of Spikes but I don't see spikes to often so I am undecided. @Leftovers/Quick Claw Adamant 252 Atk 127 SD 128 Def EQ Rock Slide DD Ariel Ace/Iron Tail Again, pretty straight forward. If Fortress doesn't use Leftovers, Tyranitar will. If fortress does use Leftovers, I will give him Quick Claw because I cannot think of anything else. I am leaning heavily toward Ariel Ace because of much higher accuracy, and it hits 3 weaknesses, grass, fighting, and bug. Iron Tail is only a possibility because it is much stronger then Ariel Ace, but I am pretty sure it isn't worth it. @? Modest 252 SA 252 Spd 6 HP Dragon Claw Crunch/Rest Flamethrower ?/Sleep Talk I know some that say Salamence has higher Atk then SA, but everyone suspects a DD Salamence and this mixes it up a bit. I am not sure how the rest/ sleep talk combo will work because I will have no control over which attack I use but it might keep salamence in the game for a bit longer as long as he doesn't get Ice Beamed. As I said in the beginning, I would love to replace Gengar for something less used but I have no idea what. Maybe Blissey but I already have 2 tanks on my team. I am leaning toward an annoyer like Raichu or Lanturn but I would really appreciate some advice on this matter. |

i also forgot to mention a couple questions/comments (i just posted up above): would i need someone to deal with status increases, with haze or roar?i kinda want someone with roar, but no idea who to use also, what is a decent pokemon who can stand to use metronome?i know its not a very reliable move, but its very fun to use i also dont use legendaries, and certain berries/items are impossible for me to get no access to leaf green/fire red |

I'm kind of like new here and I'd like you guys to give your opinion on my team... And maybe give me tips on what items they should hold... Bold, Lv. 56 Razor Leaf Toxic Leech Seed Substitute Modest, Lv. 59 Giga Drain Thunderbolt Psychic Destiny Bond(should I replace it with Shadow Ball?) Timid, Lv. 56 Aerial Ace Sludge Bomb Return Haze Lonely, Lv. 57 Earthquake Focus Punch(planning to change it to Megahorn) Rock Slide Take Down(planning to change it to Swords Dance) Naive, Lv. 55 Silver Wind Whirlwind Psybeam(I put psychic on gengar, I have no choice) Stun Spore Modest, Lv. 56 Thunderbolt Thunder Wave Quick Attack Agility This is my 1st team on LF. Planning to make another team that I'll be posting later on... I'm open for opinions and suggestions... EDIT:(July 13, 2009) Seeing that my team above hasn't been rated yet, I'll just post my Emerald team right now so that both my teams are rated the same time... I wouldn't want to post again, its just a waste... Mild, Lv. 51 Agility Leaf Blade Dragon Claw Hidden Power Electr. (for those pesky flying types) I won't breed for crunch because its male. Maybe T-Punch>HP Electr? Impish, Lv. 50 Dragon Dance (weeeeee) Earthquake Aerial Ace Hydro Pump (yeah, I know what you're thinking... WTF!!! LOLX... But I haven't finished the game yet so I don't have access to BF to tutor Rock Slide...) So Rock Slide is the missing piece here... Nothing much I can say... Modest, Lv. 50 Ice Beam Thunderbolt Psychic Surf Pretty standard SpecSweepr IMO... My designated Ice Beamer... Brave, Lv. 50 Slash (Again with the problems on accessing Rock Slide) Aerial Ace Shadow Ball Swords Dance Well Rock Slide is the missing piece here... Deja Vu? Rash, Lv. 50 Calm Mind Psychic Shadow Ball Imprison My Anti-SpecSweepr... Or at least stopping BPers from using Calm Mind themselves... Naive, Lv. 50 Flamethrower Curse Amnesia Rest My Tank... Proud to have him in this team because he can last the physical sweeping that my brother mainly has... Well, that's my Emerald team... Training them all to just lv. 55 for now to finish the E4... After that training them to Lv. 75 (the standard level me, my brother and my friends use). Then, I'll be building another team with , , , ... Undecided about the other two... Maybe I'll trade from my LG... |

It's been... Ages since I was last on here, much less having my team rated. Figured I was about due, anyhow. Here's my pride and joy, my BF team on Emerald! Swampert Ability: Torrent Nature: Serious Item: Soft Sand/Scope Lens (In the future) Moveset: Earthquake Surf Ice Beam Endeavor Gardevoir Ability: Trace Nature: Lax Item: Leftovers/Twistedspoon (Provided I can get one) Moveset: Psychic Thunderbolt Fire Punch Calm Mind Breloom Ability: Effect Spore Nature: Naive Item: Black Belt (Provided I can find one, currently Poison Barb) Moveset: Sky Uppercut Iron Tail Sludge Bomb Leech Seed I know it can use much MUCH improvement, but it works at the moment... I have them all at Level 62. If it isn't too much trouble, could you post the rating in a PM, as I am hardly on this site anymore... Thanks! |

Physical sweeper, special sweeper, and tank/wall is the standard lineup for many Battle Frontier teams. Besides that, your movesets are generally standard for 3rd gen. Personally I would make Metagross into AgiliGross, but that's more a matter of choice than effectiveness. |

So I need a lot of help... I'm very indicisive about a few things... but first I'll start with the decent stuff. [this is in Emerald, so I'm willing to listen to EV suggestions too] Calm (shoulda got Bold, but this guy had better DVs); 252 SA, 212 Spd, 46 Def Leaf Blade Crunch Dragon Claw HP Electric (65 bp, pure luck) Adamant; 252 Atk, 120 Spd, 60 HP, 40 SD, 41 Def Swagger Return Shadow Ball Poison Fang (replace with substitute?) Calm; 252 SA, 252 Spd, 6 Def Will-o-wisp Psychic Thunderbolt Calm Mind Here's where things get muddy... Rain Dish (eh...); Modest; 252 SA, 212 Spd, 46 Def Rain Dance Ice Beam Leech Seed (replace with giga drain?) Surf Careful; 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP Hyper Beam (just for fun atm; could be Earthquake but...) Swords Dance Revenge (supposed to be Rock Slide; doesn't have HP Bug ) Brick Break Adamant; 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 Def Fly Steel Wing (replace with Iron Tail or Facade?) Rock Tomb (was supposed to be Earthquake, but read below...) Screech (is supposed to be Fire Blast; it's HP is Fire) So my Pinsir has a better attack than my Flygon, and even though Flygon gets a stab from Earthquake, I really hate it's x4 weakness to Ice, and Pinsir's fighting moves are incredibly useful... It just seems like Pinsir is the better physical sweeper? Do I just clone my EQ TM and see what I like better? Also, my lack of Fire attacks irks me, as well (and my Flygon is Adamant natured... Fire Blast was mostly meant to counter Steels...). It feels like I need to drop one of them. Modest (what luck! ); 120 Def, 150 SA, 120 SD, 120 Spd Dragonbreath Mist Ball (WILL be Calm Mind) Recover (do I really want recover?) Psychic (WILL be either Thunderbolt or Ice Beam; it's HP is Ice) I have to have Latias on my team. But who do I replace? I'm not as crazy about Ludicolo as I had hoped, but it's not bad, and I need a water attack.. Hmm Latias can learn Surf... There's the Flygon/Pinsir issue as well... Oh, and the issue of how my entire team is just sweepers, but let's ignore that. By the way, what's up with Latias/Latios? Dragon types that you can't teach Flamethrower/Fire Blast to? Whatttt??? Was also thinking about inserting my shiny somewhere maybe, just for some physical resistance? Something along the lines of: Careful; 138 Atk, 120 SD/HP, 252 Spd Air Cutter/Aerial Ace Spikes Steel Wing Substitute/Toxic? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Belly Drum next turn, and you have a Charizard with 4x attack and a speed boost to sweep the enemy team. Use Fire Blast if you have problems with Skarmory; if your team can take out Skarmory (Magneton), Wing Attack gives better physical type coverage. Even though you have Blaze activated and STAB on Fire Blast, that won't compare to 4x attack power. You're boosting attack, so go with a +speed nature. Don't try to get correct IVs - adjust your EVs to get HP divisible by 4. That only requires adding up to 12 HP EVs, so it's not significant. |
