I have a feeling that the sevii islands where intended to be the orange islands,the reason I am saying this is because

in the orange island series lorelei lived in the orange islands(and in fr/lg see lives in the sevii ilands)

in the sevii islands there are lapras living there(also in the orange island series)

moltres origin lies in the sevii islands(also in the orange islands)

Lugia lives on navel rock also a sevii island(orange island)

thats all I can say(I dont know about gyms)

I think the game developers might have intended a reference to the Orange Islands, but there are only 4 Orange Islands. Besides, Moltres and Lugia might be there, but what about Zapdos and Moltres? As for the topic, I hought the same thing, until I found out that it had no gyms. Then, you made very good points, especially about Lorelei.

I think that the 'Sevii Islands' are ment to be the orange islands because of that i think in the TV seires there where 7main islands like the sevii islands.
