Sometimes the games get glitched like that, the only thing i'd do would be wait a couple of days and see if it comes back.

Well, that means that in your pack or in your GB is a bug that resets everytime.
I've got a R/B/Y pack that has a bug like that.
Unlucky...

mm seems the game is gone for good. and the cartridge is pretty much useless b/c theres no way i can save a game on it. i went and bought another crystal version for $17 USD at gamestop.

my dilemma is this and id appreciate any opinions. i used gameshark on the silver game (that doesnt save anymore) and it never glitched or cleared for the entire time i was playing the game and sharking it. the game even ran smoothly with pokemon stadium 2. after putting it on the window sill and not playing it for like 1 month, the game dropped twice from the ledge due to wind (and the ledge was kinda high so it might have damaged the game that way).

im not sure whether i should shark the crystal version now cuz i dont wanna waste another 17 bucks but on the other hand theres no definite proof that the gameshark corrupted the other game.

Its possible the gameshark is doing it... but I doubt it.

I've had this same thing happen to me once. I had a Silver Version that corrupted every once in a while. My theory is the internal battery went bad. I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but it may have happened to you.

My advice is just use the gameshark. I'm sure your game will be fine. Just don't overdo it (Like putting in more than 5 codes at once)

ya, hate it wen batteries go bad, my battery on link is gonna die soon, I just know it, and what really sucks is that I can't find link anywhere, incredible game but the batteries goin the way of the dinos. More on topic, my yellow is just like that, you'll play it, save, it'll keep the save about 10 minutes, then delete it, once, I used it to trade a charmander onto silver, and after the trade, when yellow got back to the new game options screen, the continue was still there, and then it said. THE FILE DATA WAS DESTROYED! and the continue button disappeared. once, I played 6 hours straight on it, just to see yellow mew, I then saved, and then it said THE FILE DATA WAS DESTROYED! the game reset and the continue wasn't there    Hey, would a memory card work? cuz I could get one for like 20 bucks, but I don't wanna waste it, but savin on yellow would be incredible, anybody know?

hm this battery problem seems too popular for good taste...

will all pokemon games eventually die out because of this battery or is this phenomenon incidental? i still have my red version from when i was like 8 years old and it continues to store the old saved data (with 151 complete pokedex i mite add). could dropping the game break its battery?

*searches for old gameboy cartridge holders*

I'm pretty sure all batteries ie eventually, of course dropping it could, heck dropping it could kill the game! and don't worry, links from 88, even if the battery is startin to go it still has a while.

Dropping it could be the cause.... I'm sure the reason my Silver version's battery died was because it was abused when I was younger. (I was not a careful child.)

Anyways, I think it only happens on the six GBC games. (RBY, GSC.) I emailed Nintendo complaining about my "internal battery" dying in my Ruby Version, and they said the data is not stored in a battery, but in a memory chip and it wouldn't effect my saved data. So I don't think the GBA games will corrupt as easy.
