In Goldenrod City at the northern gate, talk to the man behind the desk, and he gives you a spearow with a mail so you are going to deliver to a man on route ?31? and the man there rewards you with a TM.
If you show the mail while you got it on the spearow, he takes the spearow too.

But if you takes the mail of the spearow, and give it to, for example a random zubat or any other very common pokemon and shows him the mail+pokemon, you keeps your pokemon, and the free {spearow} ;)

maybe so, but he says only says that i sould deliver the MAIL, he says nothing about deliver the pokémon holding det mial ;) so in other words he just says:

Hey! Deliver this mail for me, i give a f**k about the pokemon as long as you deliver the mail for me. So if you want it you can take it.

he did not want the Spearow anymore, and he did treat it very bad. He was abusing it! So i rescued it from a horrible destiny! ;)

So it does not count as stealing anymore, it was adoption to give a abused pokemon a new home, a new friend, a new start. :)

I think it was the Rest TM. I seem to recall that guy napping until you bring the mail.

lol you should make that commercial,pretty sure N would aprove XD.also yes the TM he gives you is rest.
