| Post subject: | Magnezone? |
I am currently working on Soul Silver and I am close to facing the Elite 4 for the first time. So I wanna evolve my Magenton into Magnezone So my question is this: After I evolve it on my platinum version would I be able to send Magnezone back to Soul Silver or do I need to unlock the National Dex first? |

Let me more clearly answer your question Kaine...Yes you can evolve a Magneton in Platinum & bring it back to Soul Silver all prior to obtaining the National Dex...unlike in the 3rd Gen, you can have any pokemon on your team at anytime & they will not only learn all their moves properly but evolve as such as well unless in your case which you need the Mountain in Sinnoh to evolve your pokemon...In short, your good to go, it will work... |

Not since the 4th Gen games came out it's not...prior to the 4th Gen they locked Evolution for any pokemon transfered from 1 game to another that wasn't part of the region's Pre-National Dex pokemon...those were very dark days indeed... |

So as far as anyone knows there is no current way of evolving magneton without platinum? I was hoping that at the very least you could do it at mt. silver or cerulean cave. |

No you can't evolve him. You HAVE to trade. There is no Mt. Coronet in Johto. |
