Trainer wise: Red looks more like a rival than silver: AWESOME. Giovanni all Casablanca: AWESOME. Misty: FAIL. The hair is my only problem with her. Brock: OKAY. I can deal with it. The more I look at it the better I like it. Sabrina: EPIC FAIL. If she lost the pop star clothes and had something else like a black or red shirt and pants I wouldn't mind. Eusine: Epic. I love it. Overall Score: 35/60 Pokémon wise: Okay. Mewtwo, Suicune and Pinsir's legs/arms look like twigs on a redwood. FAIL. Charizard: Awesome Arcanine: Awesome Ho-Oh: OKAY. Legs look odd. Steelix, Typhlosion, and Gyarados : EPIC POSE A lot of Johto Pokémon's coloring is too dark. OKAY. Croconaw and Feraligatr: Okay. Too light blue. Especially Feraligatr. Overall score: 55/70 They did okay. But flareon's pose looks exactly like Platinum's. |

I love the Giovanni sprite. He looks so BA with that trench coat and fedora. Honchkrow is the perfect match for him. I think most of the leaders look pretty cool, but did anyone notice how much they emphasize Clair's butt? I thought this was a kids' game, and it's just like BAM. Creepy as hell. I like a bunch of the Pokemon too, notably Charizard, Gengar, Articuno, Moltres, Typhlosion, and Lugia. Decent job, overall. |

To be perfectly honest, I think that a lot of the new sprites look like crap. For many of the Kanto and Johto Pokemon, the coloring is off, the models are off and the proportions are off. It was like that in Platinum, too, and I'm left wondering why the sprites took a turn to crap after the awesomeness that was DP's set. I mean, look at Mewtwo, Suicune or Ampharos' twig limbs and tell me that they're NOT disproportionate? The Hoenn/Sinnoh sprites are simply cut-and-pastes from Platinum, by the way, which explains why the majority of the Hoenn Pokemon (i.e. the ones not in the Sinnoh Dex in Platinum) look normal. Mewtwo looks good. He is supposed to have twig arms he has never used them in his life. |

Jigglypuff, Lickitung, Vaporeon, Dragonair, Gyarados, Togetic, Cyndaquil, Jirachi, Roserade, Mime Jr, Mantyke and Glacion all look really, really good. As far as trainer sprites go, my favourites are Female Rocket grunt, burglar and Silver. I also really like what they did with the lass and youngster sprites. In general I really like most of them. |

The Sprites actually look quite good, I've been playing the game for a day or so now and the graphics are at an al time best. |

I'm not hating on you guys I just don't see why you guys hate the new sprites. Yes we're all entitled to our opinions. I was expressing my opinion in that post. In other words, that post of mine was 1000% opinion. Gosh I never would've known my post had gotten people into thinking I've insulted them for having an opinion when I was really just expressing my opinion on the sprites nothing else. |

For me its more of the fact that some of the sprites look completely off considering who they are(cough, Karen). The better ones I like are the female cool trainer, Eusine, the female team rocket executive, Silver, Blue, Blane, Janine, Brock, Karen(even though, yellow & white & no black...come on), Will, Lance, gambler, channeler, Monk, Clair, Pryce, Morty, Whitney, Falkner, fire breather, school boy, female skier, geisha, female swimmer, beauty, gentleman, twins, lass, youngster, Kotone, & Gold. For the ones I find the worst they are black belt, Misty(pose is terrible), Erika(could look better, really), Sabrina(yeah I said it, I like how she looked in the Kanto games better), Giovanni & the Frontier Brains(not Dahlia, Argenta or Tower Tycoon though.). |

I like the sprites for the most part. The Brock sprite I like because his pose is kinda kool. It would be better though if there were more detail tot he sprites....I guess the only thing to do is wait for some new Pokemon games with better resolution or something. I will not complain though....Yellow was my favorite. Sabrina I think looks a bit off character but hey I don't live in the Pokemon world so I don't know if her interests changed all that much from the first series. I think her being dark suits her better but in no way other that her looking a bit out of character does she look bad! And I loved the firebreather guy....hilarious!! |

Many of the Pokemon sprites have been killed to death. 
Steelix's mouth looks like a chessboard, Hitmontop looks like a rag doll with its floppy limbs, and they've made a version of Porygon that looks like it's had its head squashed by a compactor. They've saved a few sprites that had been ruined in Platinum, though. I like Charizard, Moltres, Granbull and Scizor. And they've rescued Ninetales, who looked stupid in Platinum with all those tails curled while standing up. In my opinion, the overall quality of the artwork has gone down a little bit. I'm a perfectionist for little details like the shape of the face and body proportions, which have been compromised in too many cases. So much for progress.

lol, i cant help but compare them to the sprites back in the day with red and blue version and say that these look AWESOME. perhaps we've been spoiled cuz the graphics got dramatically better with each new release, but since this is coming out so soon after platinum, and then out comes generation V, the changes aren't really big, so we say its not that good. XD anyways. porygon does look like it was ran over by a car. road-kill. ouch. |

that's sad...well at least we have a good 4th Gen sprite of  as I dispised it's DPPt sprite very much & some Kanto & a bit of the Johto sprites look as good as they are ever going to be imo,  anyone?...& does anyone else notice a resolution issue with most of the sprites that got redone & even some of the ones that didn't get...redone per say?...in this aspect it is just like in FRLG & also, I can't believe they did another Yellow job on the sprites & made them all look like they did in the Anime which texture I don't see fitting well in the game...though it is worse then Yellow's to me...& during the days of RBY doing that was seen as an improvement but now...but now...

For the most part, it's not the poses I don't like. In fact, I love most of the poses. It's the niggling little details... Yes, I know, I know, I'm a maddening perfectionist for that sort of thing. When I was small, I used to play on MS Paint, and I'd work on my little-kiddie digital art by adding in the details one pixel at a time. When I zoomed out, they were always just the way I wanted them to look. So when I play Pokemon, I imagine zooming in and tweaking those tiny little lines to be just a little bit better... |

lol, charizard looks so.......badass. he reminds me of the charizard clone from those mewtwo movies. just without the dark stripes. and i love the depth with wailord and milotic looks awesome. but i want to see milotics back sprite, cuz in emerald its back sprite was...um....ugly. XD but flygon looks pregnant and hippowdon looks like it was ran over by a semi. and then fell into quicksand. |
