Post subject:  Possible Celebi Glitch?

I have recently been playing Pokemon Silver and as off today Monday 10-15-07 I have came to Viridian City. So I decided to go to the trainer house to get some experience and this is where it gets quite interesting. The trainer I am supposed to fight is named Pokemon trainer Dragone___________Poke. I have never battled this person before but I was eager to see how my opponent matched up. Well let me tell you, he was no push over and I soon lost. However that’s not the point, the point is that he had some very impressive Pokemon. To start out he had a LV. 72 Machop and then a LV. 127 Kangaskhan. Which is very strange in its self and was very hard to bring down. Then he had a LV. 83 Ponyta. Now his next Pokemon is the reason I am asking the question. His next Pokemon is also the Pokemon that brought down my entire line up. He then brought out a LV. 246 Celebi. Besides being at LV. 246 it was also a Celebi and I had to show some of my friends. They convinced me that it had to be some special glitch that allowed me to get Celebi in that game. Of course that made me extremely happy for I wasn’t even planning to get him because I don’t own a game shark or went to a Nintendo event. I searched a little online but came up with nothing concerning this topic. The trainer still has two Pokemon that I was unable to see. So what do you think? Has this happened to anyone else before?

Thanks for your time,
Bob

Why did you PM me asking this question? I don't even have Pokemon Silver or any of the games in that generation, nor have I ever posted in the Johto forum. You've been sending private messages with this question to a significant number of members by reading off the memberlist, haven't you?

yes for i really want my question answerd. isn't that what i'm supposed to do

No, of course not. I'm not a moderator or a special member here, but if you read the forum rules, you will find out that you could be banned for doing that. Even if the rules didn't say that, you aren't giving a good impression as a new member to those who moderate this forum.

If you really want your question answered, the best solution would be to wait. Yes, wait. If someone capable of answering has read your question, they would have done so. Demanding people to answer your question may in return cause them to ignore you and let the mods deal with you.

A Lv246 Celebi? How hilarious.

my bad my bad i'm sorry i wouldn't bother you ever again

but yah lv. 246 and impossible to bring down

I wasn't agreeing that the Lv246 Celebi would be impossible to bring down, but whether it could even exist in the first place as a simple glitch. Common hacks include Lv100 with supernatural "999" stats. However, users of those Pokemon tend to be frowned upon by other skilled trainers.

Good thing I'm here - I am sometimes caleed Glitch King.

I haven't heard of this, and this may very well be a freak glitch.

A couple of questions:
1.) Did you ever use a cheating device?
2.) Did you expect to see Dragone___________Poke ? Why did you expect to see him?
3.) You do realise it is impossible for any person in the game to have a pokemon over level 100, except for missingno. people, right?

Well something went screwy with your Mystery Gift, is my first assumption.
First off, the trainer has waay more than 7 letters in his name, plus Pokemon over level 100.
It could be a miscommunication of data. I've had that before when I fought a friend with a GBC link cable. My side was fine, but his was showing screwy stuff, like my Pokemon transforming into this freak sleeping Venonat named ?????????LUGIA, and me continually recalling and sending out the same Pokemon with full HP.

I rest with the idea that it is a miscommunication error, and will need to be rectified by performing the Mystery Gift again (unless something is wrong with your IR detector).

First off I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to attempt to solve my dilemma.

Peanut lover

No I have never used a cheating device. Nor have I ever expected to see this dragone_______trainer. And yes I do realize that it is impossible to have a Pokemon over LV. 100 which is why this glitch is so weird.

DNA

I really want to thank you for I believe you are correct. Something must have gone wrong with my mystery gift. I have done only one mystery gift in my entire life and that was between my friends gold game. When she went to the viridian trainer house she was able to fight me. So now that I think about it, I should be able to fight her at the Viridian trainer house, however as you can tell, it is this weird trainer.

TO ALL

I have made a video of the LV. 246 Celebi and plan to post it on the web. Unfortunately I am away at college right now and do not have the tools necessary to transfer the video onto a DVD disk. I am still looking for some place here. However if I can not find one I will be able to post it over thanksgiving break when I am home. So unfortunately I ask you to be patient.

I got my GBC down to very low batteries, and I could just presss A+B in the menu while I'm in grass a and I'll encounter stuff like Mantines and Delibirds.

It's Cal. And I don't think that doing Mystery Gift normally would result in freak Celebis. Something would have to have been miscommunicated and you'd end up with screwy data. Sorta like the RB 'M glitch, where the letters in your name would register as Pokemon on the east Cinnabar strip.
Doing Mystery Gift again normally should rectify the data, as Trainer House trainer data is overridden each time Mystery Gift is performed (it copies the name and current party of the trainer you performed it with).
If the Gift still goes wrong and produces something even stranger (like a lvl 255 egg or something), I'd think that your IR detector had gone weird.

Getting Celebi is legit in the Japanese version of Crystal. In the English version, you'd have to hack the GS Ball to find it or it won't work. Celebi is lvl 30 when you find it, iirc.

not to be rude... celebi is only attainable when you have the GS ball... using the Masterball glitch.. using gs(gameshark) :(.. but officially it is how to be done(shown in the video)... I mean you need at least the GS Ball... but is only available in a game if you are using japanese version... :(

Maybe your game is just one of those special ones, like my friend's game I did the cloning cheat with his Frealigatr and then a lv 1 appeared instead of lv 63 and had a weird name and my friend caught a Slugma and he checked the summary and showed Moltres.

hey guys i'm back... I'm trying this stuff now... which I found interesting... I've downloaded the Japanese version and now playing it in my phone... I'll try if this would be true: (hope so) ...

NOTED: Pokemon Crystal Japanese Version Only

In order to fight the Suicune admirer, catch the legendary water dog, Suicune, then head back to the platform where the three legendary dogs were located. Use an Escape Rope, and you will end up on the roof. There is a ladder in the left hand side in order to get down, or you can jump through the broken roof. Navigate through the labyrinth of holes to find a ladder to the basement. Climb down, and you will see Eusine. Please note, he is not an easy opponent. He uses the three starters at L50, a Level 60 Blissey, a Level 65 Crobat, and then a Level 45 Celebi. If you defeat him, you earn 15,602 Pokemoney, and he will give you the Itemscope, which makes invisible items visible. Examine the pillar next to him to learn that he used it to find the GS Ball with Celebi.

... i guess this trick would only let you see celebi... but you ain't getting the GS ball... ...

here's another one...

Note: This trick requires the mobile adapter for your cell phone which is available only in Japan. Go to the Communication Center (Pokemon Center) in Goldenrod City, and read the message on the lockers to the right of the room. They will talk about a present from the future. Leave and the blue-haired nurse will ask you to defeat all sixteen gyms in order to obtain the GS Ball. Once you have done so, give the GS Ball to Kurt. The next day, he will give it back. Put it in the shrine in the Ilex forest and a level 30 Serebii (Celebi) will attack you.

oh no... so harsh... japan only.. omg...

anyways, i'll be updating you guys once I've tried it in japanese version...

btw... if you like to download the japanese version of the game here's the link... http://www.dgemu.com/gbc-details-809.html ... i'll be checking here if anything comes up...

First one: Load of baloney.
Second one: That is the legit way to get the Japanese Crystal Celebi. And yes it will appear at lvl 30. I have seen Youtube videos of this being done, both with Japanese and English (the English user used Gameshark to hack the GS Ball).
So yeah...Anything like the first one is false.
