I have some ideas for teams for the Battle Tower using each of the Sinnoh starters:

1st Team

Empoleon @ Choice Specs

Surf
Flash Cannon
Ice Beam
Grass Knot

Azelf @ Lum Berry

Psychic
Flamethrower
Nasty Plot
Shadow Ball

Electivire @ Expert Belt

T-Bolt
Ice Punch
Earthquake
Cross Chop

2nd Team

Infernape @ Expert Belt

Flare Blitz
Close Combat
Swords Dance
Stone Edge

Milotic @ Leftovers

Surf
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep Talk

Metagross @ Life Orb

Zen Headbutt
Meteor Mash
Thunderpunch/Pursuit
Earthquake

3rd Team

Torterra @ Leftovers

Seed Bomb/Wood Hammer
Earthquake
Swords Dance/Curse
Stone Edge

Staraptor @ Choice Band

Return/Quick Attack
Brave Bird
Close Combat
U-Turn

Kingdra @ Lum Berry/White Herb

Surf
Draco Meteor/Dragon Pulse
Ice Beam
Rain Dance

- If I had to pick a team that I would recommend the most, I would pick the Infernape team. What do you guys think?

That's very true I think it is awesome....but I got owned by a really dumb pokemon and it was not very effective with full HP

Azelf gets Nasty Plot, awesome special attack, and great speed. It is certainly not useless. After a few Nasty Plots, my friend's Azelf wiped my entire team with Uproar and Confusion in a level 100 battle. Also, instead of having the starter and then one or two random types, try placing in hybrids of the other two starter types. Yunno, like Kingdra, Breloom, and Magmortar.

I defintiely agree that those pokemon can definitely work in Battle Tower Teams.

Scizor is definitely a pokemon to consider for the Battle Tower, but you wouldn't give it Silver Wind. This is the set I would use.

Scizor @ Lum Berry/Salac Berry/Leftovers

Iron Head
X-scissor
Swords Dance
Roost/Agility/Brick Break/Night Slash

This is the set I would go wit. Iron Head & X-scissor for STAB, swords Dance for guaranteed KOs. Roost Or Agility is your choice. Agility gives Scizor the option of always going first, but Roost recovers Scizor's HP, and Scizor doesn't lose a type because it doesn't have a Flying type. I would use Agility w/ Leftovers or Lum Berry, and Roost with any of the items listed. Brick Break or Night Slash can also go with any of the items listed.

Scizor can also pull off the Endure/Reversal set.

I usually just use my Belly Drum/Rest/Earthquake Snorlax and Sky Uppercut/Overheat/Brave Bird/Bulk Up Blaziken, and the rest of my party usually depends on my mood.

The only reason I don't like the idea of Silver Wind on Scizor is because of Scizor's mediocre SA stat. An Endure/Substitute & Reversal Scizor definitely works.

^In addition to that, especially for a Battle Tower team, a move that can only have up to 7 PP with the PP Max isn't a very good route to go. (Though if I had a Scizor with Technician, I would be tempted to incorporate a move with a BP of 60 or less... just not Silver Wind...)

I have an idea for a CB Scizor w/ Technician.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Jolly Nature (+Spd., -SA)
6 HP / 252 Atk. / 252 Spd.

X-scissor
Iron Head
Aerial Ace
Double Hit

- Aerial Ace & Double Hit would be alot more powerful due to Choice Band and Technician. But, this isn't my favorite set.

Modest - 252 Sp. Atk. / 252 Spd.

Surf
Thunderbolt
Psychic
Ice Beam

Does battle tower have a sleep clause?

Maybe you could abuse that.

i like the infernape team but i would go with sludge bomb over thunderpunch/pursuit. to take full advantage of its great atk stat.
either way its a good team.
