Hey everybody. Can you plz tell my what pokemon should i choose as my new team member. tnx
I defeated the Blackthorn Gym, but haven't caught Lugia yet. I can't trade so plz suggest a new team member.
My team:
Typhlosion Gloom (soon to be Vileplume) Crobat Lanturn Mamoswine ...
I keep switching the last member. I just don't know what to do. i have 2 poison types, (weakness against psychic-types) so maybe a dark/bug type. I was thinking sth like pinsir, tauros (will teach dark and fighting type moves to it). PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP I WANT TO FINNALY GET TO THE ELITE 4 AND BEAT THEM. TNX SO MUCH.

i personally dont like grass pokemon that much so if it was me take lantern and gloom out and get a psyduck and put it in the day care centre with a ditto to get an egg to try and get a psyduck egg with phybeam decent physhic move and get physhic from saffron after the elite four and put waterfull and surf on it and evolve into a golduck. get an eletric pokemon magneton or ampharos or even an raikou if you can catch one. and for your 6th pokemon get something like a fighting pokemon such as heracross or machoke or a dark type like umbreon great defences.
so typhosion - fire golduck - water/physhic crobat - flying/poison mamoswine - ground/ice magneton/raikou/ampharos - electric fighting or dark type

For the HeartGold/SoulSilver Elite Four, a Psychic-type would be highly useful against Koga, a Poison specialist; and Bruno, a Fight specialist. Try something along the lines of a Kadabra.

Or get Lugia. Lugia practically laughs at Bruno, and can easily take down Koga. Using Lugia, I got through to Lance, then beat Lance, all in about four runs. tl;dr: GET LUGIA.

You need something psychic or ghost... What about Gardevoir, or Gengar?

Your team looks like it might have some trouble against Lance when you get to the elite 4, unless your mamoswine is rather highly levelled with ice shard, because if that can't KO his dragonite, your team is going to be slaughtered otherwise.
As for psychics, would not worry. Your other 3 team members can easily take care of will, and by the time you battle sabrina, difference in levels will mean that neutral attacks will be good enough to win.
Really it depends on your move sets...if gloom lacks sleep powder, you might want a psychic as bruno's no guard machamp is pretty brutal to face, even using crobat. Espeon would be useful here.
If when your crobat levels up and you don't let it learn haze, karen's umbreon will drive you mad with double team. A fighting type would help against her team. Any of the hitmon's (lee, chan or top) would be good here, though hitmontop might be the best if it has intimidate. (see the HG/SS guide as to how to get tyrogue in the game, and then how to evolve it)

I think its a fairly decent team.
I think you may want to get rid of Vileplume/Gloom. They have pretty high Special stats, but their movesets are potentially limited. Its up to you and your preferences. Make sure Mamoswine has a physical ice attack for Lance. If Lanturn can learn Ice Beam, that would be awesome(10,000 coins at game corner). Crobat is good, and is actually a good annoyer. For your last pokemon, get a Hitmonlee, its super high attack will help destroy Karen.
Recommended Movesets: Typhlosion- Flamethrower/Eruption,Sunny Day,Solarbeam, some physical move like Brick Break or Double Edge,Rollout if you can utilize it well Lanturn- Discharge/Thunderbolt, Signal Beam, Surf, Ice Beam Crobat(offense)- Fly, Cross Poison, x-scissor, bite/payback Crobat(annoyer) Toxic, Fly, Confuse Ray, Double Team/Haze/Attract Mamoswine- Earthquake, ice shard/fang, Return/Frustration, Rock Tomb(replace with stone edge later) Hitmonlee- Blaze Kick, High Jump Kick, Earthquake, Mega Kick Vileplume( if you decide to keep it) Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain/Petal Dance, Hidden Power( not grass/poison), Hyper Beam/Captivat
Hope i helped.
