Im sorry if I am a little slow and just noticed this, but have you noticed that the order of the legendary birds goes Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres? then look at it again like this;

Artic UNO
Zap DOS
Mol TRES

The Spanish spelling of one, two, and three. It's kind of a cool thing I just totally randomly noticed looking at stats.

No offense, but I think most people already knew about it. (Not saying all, because I had to say that to my brother for a hundred times before he realized it) Anyway, If you look at it, {articuno} is weak against {zapdos} and {moltres}. The others are just weak against only one other bird. So, I'm guessing that the reason why they named {articuno} Articuno was that it was the weakest of the three, by typing.

If you don't mind me saying, they're named that for their order in the pokedex. First comes Articuno, then Zapdos, then Moltres.

No, it doesn't. It's pronounced Raikoh. And all three Legendary Beast names are taken straight from Japan, so I don't think there was any naming pattern intent for them, unlike the Legendary Birds who all got new English names.

Also, have this many people REALLY never noticed the naming scheme of birds? Next thing you know, Ekans will be "Snake" backwards or something!
