Wailord, I don't honestly think that electric pokemon are necessarily going to be "light", maybe one or two, sure, but by Light I think most of us are thinking along the lines of "opposite of Dark", or rather "divine, angel-ish, holy, etc." So we could see a little fluff ball with angel wings and it could be light-type, but I dont think Pikachu should be a light type at all. As for electric and fire being resistant to Light, it assumes that Light would use light based moves, like Solarbeam, and Electric and Fire would be resistant because electricity and fire are luminescent. Heck, by this logic, Grass types can be resistant to it too, since they need water and light to grow.

Yes, because they obviously introduced a Galactic (or just "Space") type in DP.
Or a Magma or an Aqua type in RSE. Or a Rocket type in GSC.
Oh wait... they didn't.

Guys, just get over it already. If we were getting any new types in this Generation, I'm certain we would have heard something about them by this point because the games are coming out in just over a month and we already know so much about them.

Yes and No. Light is good, and good is honor and honor is fighting. That's the oriental way of looking at it.

If people want Light as in luminosity, it's psychic.

If light as in good, it's fighting.

psychic has to do with using your mind, not luminosity

I agree with any posts concerning a "light" type, in the "luminous", "good", or "holy" sense. That is the most probable type. I also agree with a "sound" or "cosmic/ancient" type.

However, Plasma Pokémon are already out of the question. Plasma is just another "hot" or "energy" Pokémon, which are already covered by Fire and Electric. It would become confusing to new users concerning the fact that it would share a name with a team. Plus, if they did create it, it would probably be an über element that only one legendary has, due to the many Pokémon already released, and few legendaries. This would set a precedent- more and more trivial types would be added. "Bacon-type", "Worm-type", or even "Water Water Water-type" would not be out of the question, since single Pokémon could have them. It could even stretch to making Luvdisc "Love-type" or Ditto "Ditto-type". Even if it was added as a full element, what would it be weak to, since it could dominate almost anything?

If any new types are coming, Nintendo's holding the information. They told us there would be no new types in Sinnoh early on...

{rayquaza} is the closest we'll get to an atmospheric Pokemon, it lives in the ozone and represents the sky itself.

The thing with new types is that there are loads of different ways to categorise the elements and forces etc in our minds and reality. Game Freak decided to categorise them in a certain style, and although there is a subtle difference between flying and atmosphere, as types, I don't really think the latter would fit in with Game Freak's styling

Is it it gonna happen? NO.

The reason is there are to many Pokemon already in existance that would fit into this type (amphoros for one). Then they would have to retype moves ( luster purge for one and flash for another). Now that where in Gen V, theres just too many pokemon to introduce a new type.

yes but it's fun to think of new types even though there probably never going to be put in the games

theres nothing wrong with retyping pokemon or moves. they did that to magneton in GSC, and changed gust from normal to flying. and anyway, light could mean "good", or the opposite of dark. Although if that's the case, psychic is already a sort of "light" type. If they made a "water" type and "ice" type, why not "steam" type? or gas type or something. Pokes like weezing and gastly would have to be retyped, but it would make sense. And maybe gun type, to make a sort of type for pokemon that use guns to attack? or even sword type, for sceptile and gallade, and any pokemon that uses sharp sword-like attacks.

Speaking of Sword or Gun type, I REALLY want them to include more weapon specialization. Like, not have Pokes using weapons, persay, but like Gallade.
Or it could be a Psychic which can solidify its materializations, as weapons.
Or a Poke with a Ball-and-Chain as part of its body.
OR THAT SAMURAI EVOLUTION OF FARFETCH'D!!!

I'd like to see a Bio type. It would be for Pokemon who could influence their biology (anything w/ Transform, Deoxys, Smeargle, etc.).
2x damage to: Rock, Steel, Ice, Ground
2x damage from: Poison, Electric, Fire
1/2x damage from: Water, Grass, Rock, Ground, Steel
Immune to: Ghost

How about a "Uggh I hate this pokemon its in every game and so annoying and makes me wish I had bought more repels" type it could be {geodude} , {zubat} , {golbat} , {tentacool} , {pidgey} {rattata} etc. It could be good against nothing and bad against everything except normal and normal would be normally efective? Ha ha ha

They probably won't make any other Type right now, since in the previous Gen has enough types. But i have to agree that the Bio-Type will be cool.

I would really love to see a new type or just to see some or the other types get justification, poison and grass need to be so much stronger, there aren't many good poison pokemon there are no good bug pokemon.
It would also be cool to see fire/water types or ground/electric or double types like fire fire, so you get a 3X stab

What about more than two types? Example: {lugia} Lugia Psycic/Flying/Water/Dragon
or Multi Type Attacks? Example:Tri Attack changed to Fire/Electric/Ice rather than Normal
Blaze Kick Changed to Fire/Fighting
