Stadium 2: Annoying Shiny Glitch

I finally found my old N64 and Stadium Two. Popped my old Gold version in the Transfer Pack, switched it on, went to the Battle Now zone with my new edited rules that allow only Lv. 5's in.
I go to enter my Lvl. 5 Jolteon (evolved right out of the egg), and on Stadium it is appearing as a SHINY! I didn't believe it. I went into Gold from the Game Boy Tower, and checked it. It wasn't shiny!!
This is highly annoying me. I have a bunch of Pokemon like it, that I haven't checked yet: Koffing, Vulpix, Raichu, and some others.
I have never used Gameshark on this game (mainly cuz I don't have one!), and I do have a shiny Ditto and Gyarados.
It's not that this is seriously troubling, it's that I'd like it to either go away or permanently "shinify" the glitched Pokemon on my game.

Pokemon with Nicknames other than their Species appear different colors than regular pokemon (battle some people in Little Cup or Prime Cup to see some), Try Renaming it "JOLTEON" and battle with it again and see if it still is a different Color.
Though, if Stars don't appear when you let it out, it isn't Shiny anyway.

Erm...I nickname all of my Pokemon, and it's only the ones I mentioned (Jolteon, Vulpix, Raichu, Koffing, and a few others) that turned "half-shiny".
My newest guess is that their EV's on the game are close to shiny, and since my Stadium 2 is old, it may not be able to tell the difference.

unless it sparkles, it's not shiny. And not all nicknames will change colors of the pokemon. Sure, some might, but not all.

I know the difference between a true Shiny and a "Mock Shiny". I have a Shiny Gyarados AND Ditto. I checked: They have the dot.
I'm going to rename my Jolteon in a few minutes.

Hey! I have a quick question about the shiny pokemon... I know you can see them in Gold and Silver, but do they appear in the Crystal version? (I'm only asking because on http://www.psypokes.com/dex/picdex.php?id=251 it seems like shiny pokemon don't appear to be in the Crystal version...) Please help me out! Thanx in advance!

Yes, shinies do appear in crystal.
This wasn't exactly the best thread to ask this in, though. I'm locking it.
