Mewtwo was a scapegoat to put a movie later in the series to bump ratings of the show. It was a bonus in the game.

My belief is Mewtwo was made as a rival for Mew,and Nintendo probably also like some of you said forgot to add the #150 so they made Mewtwo.Basically Mewtwo is a cybernetic clone of Mew but with different kinds of powers,and abilitys same to Mew.

well i like Mewtwo and all the other legendaries they're cool and hard to catch them it's just an extra challenge to make the game harder i really don't see a problem with it and all the games and movies are based around the legendaries........they're just cool and they sell the lil kids love em

I think that mewtwo/all other legends are a fun way to end the game, ho-oh in crystal is a sidequest, you dont have to battle it but it's fun to do so, so if you don't like legendaries then don't capture them but if you want a fun time with your friends then catch them and you battle with friends to see whos better at what,sounds a little weird but thats what i think about them...plus they look cool
