Sorry if there is a topic similar to this.

What were some of the old good/bad/funny etc.... memories you had in your pokemon game Red/Blue/Yellow.

Here are mine:

Bad/Funny things:

This was my pokemon team: :lol:

{venusaur} Lv.97
{pidgeot} Lv.60 something
{seaking} Lv.50 something

I used my master ball on a useless {meowth} which I never used.

I didn't know where was {articuno}.

I saw these strong/rare pokemon but never tried to catch them:

{zapdos} {moltres} {mewtwo} {wigglytuff} {venomoth} {tauros}

I didn't know where was HM (Surf) so I traded one of my pokemon for my brother's {goldeen} which knew surf.

I released a few pokemon. I didn't know what that meant.

Pokemon I didn't know how to evolve:

{haunter} {graveler} {kadabra} {machoke}

Good things:

I beated the elite four so so so many times.

I only traded one pokemon for my brother's {goldeen}

I caught about 110 pokemon.

I saw 140 something pokemon

Never cheated.

Unbelievable things: :shock:

Longest game ever played.

Played about 100 hours that same saved data.

Still have that same saved data for more than 8 years.

RBY memories...? Well since I was pretty used to pokemon when I got R/B, I won't count those.

Yellow version's Viridian Forest. It took me hours the first time I played through it. Fighting Brock was the biggest pain EVER. After that, I caught a Pidgey (wasn't much better, but I didn't know Caterpie would evolve, and I didn't know Nidoran had double kick) and trained it to level 17 and kicked his butt.

Also, I remember never being able to find Articuno for some reason. It was in the game, but I never found it....I looked everywhere. I found the other two birds, but Articuno was no where to be found. I can't remember anything about the E4, so I'm assuming I never challenged them.

OH and I remember my old team. {lapras}, {raichu}, {jolteon}, {gyarados}, {charizard}, {hitmonlee}. I know they aren't the best team in the world, and they'd never beat anything now, but back then they did. ;)

Oh wow RBY memories.

I remember that, the first time I beat the elite four, I thought it saved as soon as the credits started rolling so I turned it off before the end. It was a good thing because I had KO'd Moltres the first time and because I didn't save I could do it again (5 months later when I found it still there).

Pokemon Yellow

My first Team: {pikachu}, {butterfree}, {hitmonlee}, {lapras}, {blastoise} and {charizard}.

Used my Master Ball on a {weezing}.

Never caught a legendary bird but I did catch Mewtwo.

I tried to evolve Pikachu 100 times until I noticed it wouldn't evolve.

I caught every pokemon I could find.

I didn't know what a pokedex was.

I thought there where just as many legendary birds as normal pokemon.

I thought my game broke when my pokemon got poisoned because the screen was flashing.

I used movesets like: Thundershock, Flash, Thunderbolt and Thunder.

1. Use a Master Ball on a useless Magickarp!
2. Only caught Zaptos and Moltres. Can't find the other bird
3. I trade useless pokemon like Weedle and Caterpie
4. i DIDN'T CATCH Pokemon that are rare thinking that I will meet one again but with no luck.

good

1. found and caught every pokemon that is not in blue [mew trick]

2. caught a level 131 mewtwo [missingno. glitch]

bad/funny

1. used a master ball on a snorelax

2. boght magikarp [i had no idea it was useless at the time ]

I remeber thegood old day of rby I even still have my first file haven't deleted after like 6 years I remeber pwning with my garadoes, thinking you could get mew with mew yelling at friends for catching misingno giving my charzard crapiest moveset eva(mega punch flamethrower fireblast fire spin) finnaly saving up enough coins to buy porygon, pwning with my garadoess pwning with my garedoes... I did alot of pwning with my garedoes

I remember finally getting my Likitung... I thought it was the most amazing Pokemon ever when I finally figured out how to get it. At first I thought it was as rare as Articuno or Mewtwo... which, it techinally is, but I thought it was even more powerful then them..

Wow...i guess my most common memmory was that i couldnt get bulbasaur in yellow 'cuz pikachu didnt like me enough...on a good note i did complete the yellow pokedex (only one that I'd ever complete lol)

Well this take sme back a few years, Team: {pikachu} {charizard} {graveler} {haunter} {kadabra} {machoke} all Lv100 didn't know how to evolve them

Bought a {magikarp} and evolved it, I liked {gyarados} alot so decided to go catch LOTS of {magikarp}, I still have a box full of them now :lol:

Used the Master Ball on {tentacool} and never used it

Only had the Pokemon in my team, {magikarp} and {gyarados} in my pokedex

Didn't catch a single legendary, Didn't know what they were back then

Bad things:

knocked out {moltres} which i thought was impossible to catch

waste valuable TMs

Good things:

beaten E4 many times

seen all pokemon

caught 140+ pokemon

I can still remember my team {venusaur} {pidgeot} {zapdos} {articuno} {gyarados} {mewtwo} , and their movesets too!

When I was a little kid, my cousin gave me Pokemon Red and a Gameboy pocket, and he didn't start over, so his Pokemon were great! He had an Arcanine in the box and he had a Snorlax on his team with Hyper Beam! Uhh...that's all I remember...

I started off with yellow first,


Good things:

Completed Pokedex
Team:
{mewtwo}
{blastoise}
{pikachu}
{zapdos}
{moltres}
{weedle} (I loved training up weedles)
Killed elite four to many times

Funny/bad things

When ever i got bored i started a new game and got up to the bit where the old man is lying on the floor (I allways laugh at that :P)

Killed atricuno and saved (Dumbo)
Bought that {magikarp} from the man
Wasted my masterball on a weedle (the level 100 one)

My best 1st gen memory is that I caught all pkm in red (excluding Mew, didn't know how to get it). This the only game til date that I have got all the little critters :D

In fact, i restarted my Red in February, here is my 1st hall of fame starting lineup:

Lv47 {raichu}
Lv55 {dragonite}
Lv42 {kabutops}
Lv52 {charizard}
Lv43 {gyarados}
Lv50 {arcanine}

Since i cannot trade, so i am not able to have a beloved {golem} or {gengar} :(

I remember I was on holiday at the time, and it was raining outside, so I spent all day giving Rare Candies to my Pokemon and took them to win the E4.

i probably have the funniest memories in RBY... remember the flowers in pallet town? lol.. at first i thought they were digletts, so i stay i away from them.. and guess what, my pokemon always get fainted in mount moon. by the trainer who uses clefairy at the entrance.. lol.. :D and darn, i never knew how to use the flash thing so i've crossed the rock tunnel without flash.. :) and the first wild pokemon i've ever caught is ghastly in the pokemon tower..

Here's a few of my shining moments from when I first started PkMn with Yellow version:

*Used Thundershock on just about every Pokemon I encountered (Yes, even Rock and Ground types. It took me forever to understand why it never hit them...).

*I had teams that were made up of like, one level 50something and five level 10s.

*Everytime I got Poisoned, I turned the game off and changed the batteries because I thought that the blinking screen meant they were running low. I also never got why Pikachu would faint while the screen was blinking...

*Pondered endlessly what Teleport did since it never worked while I was in a trainer battle (never thought to use it in the wild). Same thing with Whirlwind...

*The first trainer battle I ever fought, I tried running from about six times. I finally gave up and tried to use an Escape Rope...

There are a billion more things I've done like that, but I can't remember them all...

Things I laugh at now:

I couldn't figure out how to get out of my bedroom at the beginning of the game and through the bed with a pipe like those in Mario Bros.

I couldn't figure out how to get past the coffee man in Viridian City. The PokeMart cashier saying "Say hi to Prof. Oak for me." hinted me to go talk to Prof. Oak and that led me to getting the PokeDex and finally to Viridian Forest.

Bad memories:

I never bothered training any wild Pokemon because they were "weak" in my opinion at the time. Even the legendary birds were 10-20 levels lower than my Charizard when I found them.

I fought the E4 with only a level 60-70 Charizard, Moltres and Zapdos (still at Level 50) and couldn't get past Lorelei and started over.

It seems Articuno gave a lot of people trouble. Actually, I never went into the Seafoam Islands. I flew to Pallet Town and surfed to Cinnabar from there.

Good memories:

I remember in yellow i couldnt get past Brock so i caught a Caterpie and started training it because my cousin said it evolved at level 90 and i belived him. First time i played when it said like ememy geodude used tackle i thought enemy was an attack. I have a lot more but i cant remember a lot of them.

My Blue version had a major glitch that caused my lv99 Charizard to 'evolve' into a Khangaskahn when it hit lv100... :cry: worse the Khangaskahn didn't have any attacks...
