Does anybody know when the Gender Values, Shiny Values, etc. are decided for the starters? Knowing whether its when you enter Oak's Lab or when you decide your name would make my quest for a shiny
would be a whole lot easier and faster.

Yeah, it's decided exactly when you pick it. If you save right before you receive it, then it can still change Nature, DVs, Gender, or Shiny values. Edit: Krisp basically explained it all, too. I'll lock this; PM me if there are further questions. |

The DV values, gender, and nature are decided when you pick it. Sometimes I save before I pick my starter if I want a female. There is an 87.5% chance that you will get a male. There is a 12.5% chance you will get a female. There is alittle over .000012% chance you will get a shiny. Therefore, if you're trying to get a shiny as a starter, you'll be there a pretty long time... Happy hunting! |
